STDM alternative
Hello,
just to complete this . . .
after it was clear, that the recommended workarounds doesn't help in this case, we offered a hardwareupgrade for a very special upgrade price.
The offer includes 14DSP Scope Professional with I/O - option of your choice, Scope4.0 Software plus Mix+Master and synth+sampler Pack.
Price : 1299,- Euro.
There was more, than only the statement to buy a professional scope board.
Moreover :
It might happen, that elderly boards (1998 to 1999) may show failures in communication with
new boards which is caused by different speed grades of FPGA chips used. Within the first
series we only had to use the speed grade 1 and the had to sitch to speed agrde 3 because
of more traffic and dsp loag on the boards from newer and more complex software/algorithms.
Besides that during 7 years in use of the old Pulsar 2 you also have to face material fatigue in
electronic parts & components, which may even raise the effect.
Still even after 7 years this effect of lack in communication only appears in a small percentage.
That's why we already offered an exchange of the old Pulsar 2 board at a special rate.

Immanuel you're completely right. The one I have is from 2001, not 1998..
I cannot speak of good support in this case. When I bought my second project card I assumed it worked with my pulsar 2. How can I get a guarantee that the professional scope card (which is offered for a price I cannot afford btw) IS working with my project card?
And isn't there any alternative for the stdm cable? You didn't reply on my last mail ralf.

for not having checked your
boards directly - so I thought you were talking about a Pulsar 1 from
1998. Again - my mistake.
Well, we can offer you to check both cards in combination - please send to
my hands and please also
describe your system settings. If it's about the hardware, we sure can fix
the problem. And it's not that far
from Nijmegen, so also transport shouldn't be too expensive.
You also mentioned, that you've been told we couldn't do anything about
it. This is correct - but has been
a slightly different subject. When you contacted me initially early July
for use of the SDK 4.0 on your two
boards, I told you, that we couldn't help - it runs only on the big
boards.
This is still valid - anything else we can fix.
So please send your boards to my hands and I will take care, that the guys
from our QA will check what's
wrong and fix it.
regarding the STDM connectors the fastest way is to contact your local dealer.

Just read this line and I was wondering If I told you the problem of my cards clearly.regarding the STDM connectors the fastest way is to contact your local dealer.
I think the problem was not the communication but the stdm connections. If I just push the pc or the stdm cable a bit the problem is gone (for a while).All the options you mentioned about cleaning etc. didn't help so is it usefull to send it to Creamware then?
