What do we want from Creamware?
What do we want from Creamware?
Do we want new software (more synths, FX, mixers, etc.)for our existing cards?
Do we want new cards(new DSP's)and new software?
Do we want Mac compatibility?
Do we care about backwards compatibility?
What do we need the new software to do? What is it that your existing Creamware product does not do that you are desperately waitng for Creamware to implement?
It seems to me that this is as good a time as any for a wish list. I would guess that they are done with the "box" design and now is the time to think about the next generation of Scope. So, presuming that they monitor this website (which I believe they do), let's hear all your desires.
Speak now or forever hold your peace.

all I need from CW is:
a) a DSP system w/o I/O, compatible with other sound cards...
b) an *existing* support...
c) I want CW to draft developpers too, and not only commercial staff that just pack the existing CW products with different names and prices
d) and last but not least: I'M STILL WAITING FOR THE TWO MORE SYNTHS CW ANNOUNCED THEY WILL RELEASE FOR NOAH. I guess it's their "support team" that promised this...
Angry? No. I'm fine with the UAD1.
The sad thing is that Scope is one of the few environnement that provide easy sidechaining and Key-in for dynamic processes, and that's THE thing I'm missing by now.

You mean a seperate forum sponsored by Creamware? That would be nice. But this forum is what we have, can't we use it?

a)If you are happy with the UAD-1 why do you want Creamware to build a competing product? Shouldn't you be complaining to the UAD-1 people about the side chain issues? On 2005-06-22 07:07, r_Daneel Olivaw wrote:

b) In effect this forum has become CW support. I don't expect we will see any changes in this regard. I'd like to keep this on topic: product issues.
c) I was hoping we could keep this to product needs, not a time to tell CW how to run the company. That could be a whole seperate topic.
d)I wouldn't hold your breath.

I'm assuming that they are not just going to sit around waiting to see how many boxes they sell, surely as a company they know that they cannot just do nothing and wait and see what happens. If they are not developing the next generation of Scope right now...then they are already done as a company...unless they intend to drop the cards entirely in favour of making boxes. On 2005-06-22 07:26, Spirit wrote:
The main thing I want from CWA is for them to stay in business. For now that means selling lots of ASBs. Can we look any further ahead than that ?

I think UA is waiting for VST3 before releasing sidechaining. And they are right, it would be a waste of time to do it in VST2 format...On 2005-06-22 07:19, nprime wrote:

I want CW to release a competing product to have both. UA and CW have a different sound and feel for me, and I like them both. BTW I didn't said I'm "happy" with UAD, I said "fine". different.
How many times did you hear sad stories about people that buyed CW, had a big problem, asked CW about it, waited for a response that they 'll never have, then sold their CW stuff?b) In effect this forum has become CW support. Not my case, for I never had any tech problem w/ CW. But this lack of support is so crucial. CW should consider it, if they wanna sell the upcoming products you're talking about. On topic.
hum... Having a developpment team is not on topic about future CW products?c) I was hoping we could keep this to product needs, not a time to tell CW how to run the company. That could be a whole seperate topic.

yesI guess hubird was talking about this:

I don't have any wishes except OSX, which is undoubted in the oven

I can make any song I want, the rest I leave to CWA

I was hoping for specific product requests, I just don't want this to deteriorate into another CW bashing thread, we have plenty of those already.
So...anybody? I can't believe more people don't have some positive ideas.
Is it true that all we can do is bitch about what we don't have? No one has new ideas? Good, solid useful recommendations...please.

Personally, not a great deal...
An improved STS sampler UI complete with BUG fixes would be very nice.
The ability to CHOOSE which project to open on start-up rather than have to wait until the default/new/startup/whatever project loads and then load the one I actually want to work on would save a lot of time.
It's still my dream system really. An entire studio instantly built and configured with all the settings exactly as they were last time I worked on a song? Bloody amazing.

Yeah, that would be nice, it should load a blank project quickly, and then allow you to decide. Or at least give you the option to load the last project or a different one.On 2005-06-22 09:02, Counterparts wrote:

I think developping new products based on the existing system would be a waste of time, if they do that before improving the Scope compatibility/integration with other technologies.
I'm sorry to insist so heavily (I know it's not the kind of replies you're waiting for), but I really think this could be the most positive move CW can make. And then release plenty of products that way more people will enjoy buy & use.
Like a better sampler, with an improved hardware system that can manage the DfD. But that's dreamin' speculation, because this should cost a lot of R&D.
just my .2€

yes, a troublefree and better looking sampler.
and a bugfree modular.
and a more flexible modular shell. meaning that the user should be able to decide how many in/outputs and whatnot... just the same for the source/destination modules (these however can have their name changed, see below).
i would really love to edit the name of the devices, especially in/outs and modulars. it is possible to do this with some of the mixers, so why not more devices?
oh yeah, if the asb's sell well, i'd definately appreciate a laptop solution for scope! no, not usb...

Are you thinking of direct VST support? If not, can you be more specific? On 2005-06-22 09:12, r_Daneel Olivaw wrote:
