That's a bit hazey. If you had of said "the number of grains", well, that's different. Most probably an odd number.

I disagree, as this would be constantly changing. The average frequency between odd and even numbers of grains is a better question.

BTW, Tasmanian Devils have been known to eat children.

Might it be more interesting still to determine the greatest length of time when the number of grains were consecutive primes ?

In fact I'm thinking of starting a religon based on messages encoded in these consecutive primes. Obviously the first task of my followers must be to count the grains.
