Hi,

Is it possible use a gate insert on a channel in the 2448 mixer and use another channel for its side chain input? I have clicked on side chain but the gates will not allow anything to be selected in the SC source - the only menu option is 'hide'.

I am trying to open/close some gates on multiple backing vocal tracks from a single master track to tighten things up timing wise.

Regards,

Simon

Yes, a bug, it seems, on some mono dynamics.

Is it the gate itself that is the problem or the mixer?

Does anyone know of a workaround or another gate that can be used as this would be a bit of a show stopper for me

You could put it in front of the mixer.

How would I route it?

ASIO to gate to channel for each bvox and then direct out from 'master vox' to SC input?

Thanks for the help

never used sidechaining in Scope, but I can confirm all bugs mentioned in this thread for Mac (OS9) equally well.
Ovviously, I can hear you say, but now it's sure
btw, it's the only bug in Scope I'm aware of now.

Route it however you want to gate it... You can 'show Direct Outs', gate post processing, send back to another channel for which Mix (green btn) is activated etc etc. It's a flexible system, options make life difficult

Thanks for the heads up guys.

Sadly it's not the only bug in the 2448 - I've been using it for 3 days and found this one and the 'aux to monitor' routing bug

On the positive side the flexibility means that these things are easily solved and by heck it sounds pretty nice

I have managed to side-chain with both the stock compressor and inserts (vinco). However, once I have assigned the channel I am not allowed to re-assign it or something :/. Bug.
