Normally a delay is used as an effect send in a mixer, but you can put it in the audio chain in your project window.
Oh, I see, you're talking about an external hardware echo machine?
use the analog in-out, if you don't have a breakout box, and use it as an effect send effect.

Study the manual
Iif you don't understand how the virtual studio works, you will get in trouble with any new setup.

It's all in the manual, take a day or two
Scope isn't a toy, however it is designed exactly like the analog studio world, connecting ins and outswith cables.

Here's some very usefull and basic studio information about studio working:

if you only have the pulsarII, you can't get the echo in your audio chain, unless it has some kind of digital in/out, or you want to work in mono

so yes, you will need some sort of ADAT convertor, or if you have a pulsar with Z-link, you can buy the Luna box. here's one for sale at the moment.

the cwa a16 is excllent!
if you are on a tight budget, the behringer ada8000 for about $230us shipped is a bargain that really works well. it has 8 balanced io. as a bonus you also get 8 mic pres...

you'll definitely want to use the adat io on your card for interfacing with the real world.

The A16 is an essential thing if you want to patch a lot of outboard thru scope - you rarely run out of options

If you are satisfied with 16bit/44,1kHz, the el cheapo Fostex VC-8 would be also a good choice for AD/DA.
