I have been using Matrox P650 AGP card for a few months now, and try to keep the drivers up to date. But because I didn't want to install Dot Net Framework 1.1, I have never been able to use the Powerdesk features, and therefore haven't been able to check whether Bus Mastering was on or off. However all works well, and it doesn't seem to affect performance by not having the Powerdesk functions accessible. So today, after a drive image backup of my machine, I thought I would install Dot Net Framework in order to check out what the Powerdesk settings were, and when I turned off Bus Mastering and moved any windows while the audio was playing in cubase, I was getting terrible pops and delays in the audio. With Bus Mastering on I hardly have any pops or clicks, even at 70-80% cpu load. So its back to the original setup for now, but I was curious as to how any other of you Matrox P650 users have installed your cards and drivers. And also whether DirectX 9 and the latest Beta drivers are worth installing. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

hi
I'm a lucky user of a p650
I have used it for a year, no trouble at all.
But, no .net configured.
Powerdesk is always ready > system tray.
Can't find if bus-mastering is on or of though.
I have not updated drivers (v 1.5.0.107)

Thanks for the reply.
I will try that driver out just to compare with the latest version. I think you'll find that bus mastering is turned on by default unless you specifically turn it off in the drivers settings. Bus mastering is activated on my pc for sure and all works fine. Anyway thanks again.
