There are several stream catching programs out there, you can already and easily record any radio program, extract DVD music, etc., etc., etc… Piracy will never end; there will be always “a way” to get things cracked as long as they keep in the virtual world.
I understand that the only way to stop it completely would be to separate music from computers and the internet, and this will never happen, all on the contrary, facilities to play music virtually are coming up by the minute.
In old times the problem so, was not to publish music in magnetic tapes, but the double tape recorders, all those machines that came after the tape. In the same way today, the problem is not publishing music or video in a CD or a DVD, but the recorders that came after the invention… As long as technology is available to everybody, massively, there will be piracy and duplication, this is incontrovertible, is a fact.
Illegal duplication will continue to exist despite any and all the efforts of companies involved, it doesn’t matter how many millions of dollars they will spend trying solving the problem, if music is in the internet and people have the technology, it will not work.
I love to have a CD recorder, a DVD recorder too, they are extremely useful for me, for my music, I love it, but…

Why do people always think, that changing the medium will change the market? It doesn`t.
Casper:
I'm not implying that a device like a dvd-recorder should vanisch. They fill the need to collect things. Only the collecting source is changing. That would mearly imply upgrades if you will. Recording your favorite series on tv I don't think is piracy. But think of the situation that anyone already have access to any record or movie. That it would be useless to trying to get money out of copying on dvd and sell. Cause who's gonna buy them? You already posses them in a streaming way

Your missing my point.
Why would you pirate something that is free?
That was the proposal. You only pay a small amount of tax for "entertainment" or give it a name.. So it is not directly connected to you listening to 40000 songs or only 10.
This number is only linked to how much money the artist, writers, producers are getting
So pirating something that is already free(the listening to a song at demand)
You don't need duplications(stated you'd want to listen to it only , so no touchy!, or hanging it on tha wall)
cheers,
Casper

We used to pay tax for radio and later tv devices, as it was a luxury. Nowadays here it is no more considered to be a luxury so the tax is suspended (or did they get enough people on commercial radio eh;).
You can listen to music and watch TV 24/24 for free. Many of these TV and radio transmissions I can stream, on demand, for free. They even cut the commercials for the streams
How long untill one makes on-demand instant playlists? Don't ask me who pays for all that...

those streams are official programs. programs are a series of commands, software, which tell hardware how to function...
really, though Casper, the idea is a very nice one. it really depends how society is organized whether the implementation of such an idea would be nice. there are a number of scenarios which would be far more confining and elite than the present system of delivery. i'm in no hurry for technology to solve ANY of my problems, although if it exists and i can, i just might use it anyway....

The future of radio is the cell phone and it has already begun.

Too bad for Sirius and XM satellite radio because this will eventually (when more content is added) put them out of business. I am sure they are shaking in their boots. I listened to what Sirius and XM had to offer and wasn't very impressed.
