But seriously, the price is good, although I can't afford one, it surely will sell if they can get their marketing act together. I want to see this in catalogs, ads and reviews in magainzes, etc.. You have to spend money to make money. To me it would be much better and could be cheaper if it was a faceless rackmount single space item like my Nord G2. I already own a Novation 25 so why do I need the knobs? A lot of people would say the same thing. Desktop space is not available for this item and that is an issue for me. I'm not buying anymore Creamware cards or software because my system is already unstable. You might say oh it's because 2 of my 3 cards are type 1 cards. Blah! I already made a big enough investment. Outboard hardware seems the way to go for me.

half the point is that it is simple to operate. the other half is that it is hardware.

now, if u change your mind and want to go software again, well, its all good since u can use the software interface (tho i dont see why u should, and its PC only ).

what bothers me tho is the video where frank answers the question about voices. "weeeell, at least six"...

so another creamware product goes out to the shop with half finished software? smells icky...

i know u want to release proddesy first, but f**k it, go all inn when ASB max and profit has calmed down

proddesy will still be atractive to oddesy fans (as long as u fix the duophonic issue (make a knob

and most important, dont go to the Virus kline for solaris pricing. make the price to thirds of a virus TI and ull prolly make a shitloads of money (PROMO NEEDED THOUGH!!!!).

Solaris is not a creamware instrument so don't you think it's kinda unrealitic to hope for a Solaris ASB?
The best you could hope for is John Bowen making his own hardware for Solaris.
Now some sort of Modular III ASB (a la Nord Modular) would make a lot of sense but it seems with the name "Authentic Sound Box" they have already limited themselves to only emulations of old synths. My guess is they may release a Prodyssey ASB after these two and then that's it and they'll move on.

i would definitely buy Prodyssey if it could do both polyphonic or duo modes - might have to be separate boots on power up, but at least you could do your Jan Hammer impressions

For the sort of live lead work that i would do with this polyphony would be a waste. Somehow i doubt CWA will recode a whole plug-in for duo mode though

i think Prodyssey and B-2003 will be next, although i imagine B-2003 would be quite cheap and probably quite a bit smaller as you just need a few drawbars and some rocker switches - unless they had separate drawbars for both manuals and bass pedals.

No takers on EZSynth ASB then?

Well, it's not that simple - the software interface is "only" for preset management if I've understood it all correctly, and not for host-integration - And then there's the isue about getting the sound into your software, if you are not mixing out of your virtual environment, with the noise that this introduces to the signal.
I wonder why they didn't include a digital output on this baby or have I misunderstood something about the USB-interface?

Thanks for the mention of Solaris!

As many of you know, I posted a questionaire some time ago concerning users' opinions on a hardware version of Solaris. Now with the ASB hardware, it would appear that I could produce such an item...however, what I found out at Messe (and I'm very sorry to say), as with Noah, the ASB hardware does not do dynamic allocation of the DSP code, which Solaris uses quite a bit.

At some point perhaps I can produce a more limited version (which some have called "Solaris Lite") that would not use dynamic allocation. How much more limited is hard to say at this point, and of course, this also lessens the impact of such a product. As it is now, it seems the current Solaris configuration will have to remain an exclusive product for Pulsar and Scope boards.

ah well, thats a shame... thought maybe they implemented this as this was one of noahs big downfalls. guess that rules out a hardware modular/flexor rack as well

(atleast without some serious cicuit redesign).

not that i could afford one right now myself (hell i cant even afford the SFP solaris at this point).

I think it might be possible to download an 'image file' of a certain set of Modular modules...you couldn't change them in the ASB, though. It would be a fixed configuration (which is like the Nord box, isn't it?).

I don't know about the inner workings of the Modular structure, and how that gets translated to the new system, though. THere may be some other limitations. Best wait for Frank to tell us....

If this is possible somehow, it would be a pretty damn cool compromise. Also, if actually editing a modular patch isn't possible with the ASB units, it would actually encourage people to buy Scope cards as well. I wonder why Creamware didn't get something like this together when they made the Noah
