Are Pulsar's ASIO2 drivers multi-client?

i was wondering if Pulsar's ASIO2 drivers are multi-client. the midi drivers are.
if they're not, i have to use soundforge or cubase via wav drivers to record Fruityloops.
if they are, i could use Cubase's Asio. And, why not, sync both and monitor/mix FLP in Cubase

By nature of the driver, I do not think it's possible for ASIO to be multi-client. Apps like Cubase freeze or crash when other programs attempt to share the same ASIO drivers it's currently using.

i was quietly hoping ASIO compatible appz would take consecutive Pulsar ASIO ports, but indeed, different ASIO ports are still on the same driver.

Remember, the other Pulsar drivers are multi-client.

Is this just related to how Creamware developped its own Asio drivers or is it related to the current asio standard in general ? whatever the soundcard and the software used ?

I mean, could we hope asio Multiclient drivers as an update of Pulsar (3.x) or will we have to wait Steinberg to develop the ASIO3 standard ? and maybe later

..

Asio multi-client would be an ultimate feature to complete the great flexibility of routing in Pulsar...

Atomic : how about midi support in FruityLoops ? I've read from you that multi-out will be part of a next update.. and multi-in ? I'd love to use my PocketDial beside my keyboard, especially with the new controllers...

It has nothing to do with the Creamware drivers, but the ASIO standard itself.

ASIO was not intended to be multiclient and may never be.

Interesting you brought this up again right now as there is a current thread on Cubase.net about this.

"Version 3 of ASIO is being planned, although I don't know about multiple card support"

Fruity has enough midi routing capabilities, which are not related to the ASIO drivers- which are audio, obviously. Connect Pocketdial to Pulsar Midi In, route to seq.dest. and assign that port for midi remote on Fruity.
