SX3 Hangs on Exit After Hypersonic Install

Been using SX2 and SX3 no problems on tweaked XP SP1 Creamware based system for over a year. Installed Hypersonic with Syncrosoft Dongle and now SX3 (and curiously VStack - but not Cubasis!) hangs on exit. Project closes fine with all child windows but empty main window sticks around and grabs 95%+ CPU never closing. Killing it in taskmanager cuts the CPU to 0% but the program cannot close without a reboot. No bluescreens, it happens in VStack also - so perhaps Stncrosoft is not the issue. Machine has been rock solid until this. All seems to work except for the program exit hang and midi port activation or deactivation from Device Setup will freeze SX3 and VStack as well. Only things that have changed were adding Hypersonic 1.1.2GM and Directixer 2.5. Tried no midi ports, no audio, disabled everything, can't figure it out. Sonar 4 works perfectly, though.... Please help, Steinberg thinks it's a midi driver issue but all are up to date and it still happens with the ports disabled.

Any ideas would be appreciated, I can't seem to find anything about this behaviour (except for a similar issue with an emagic card but that doesn't apply here! Thanks in advance...............

Can't beleive it. Steinberg has been totally mum on the issue. As a self-proclaimed PC guru I gave up but alas.....
3.02 installed, reboot and voila- problem gone..... for now. Fixed it in VStack as well !!!!!!!! Must be a driver-exit-release parameter/dll issue shared by Cubase and Vstack. Who knows? Meanwhile Sonar 4PE has been flawless and our current project is 65% complete using it. I guess the moral is in the DAW world you need a business continuity program given the gotchas. Cubase conked - moved over to Sonar. Cubase works again - EGADS!
