hey. i use magix-programs... however i want to know from u guys how u like those products from magix!? cuz a friend of mine (hes mixing music real good and stuff...) might get the magix samplitude (i was talking about samplitude and other magix-stuff in one of those forums here, too). because i use magix, i recommended him of course magix but its a big decision and i wanna help him (costs a lot of cash). so i would really appreciate ur help. what can u tell me about that all? as always, it depends what you want to do. If your friend wants to do MIDI and audio sequencing, with a bunch of VSTi and VST effects, I'd go for the standard cubase setup. Remember, Samplitude started as an audio only sequencer. It may have MIDI support now, but remember it's an add on. (it may be good, I'm not sure)

If you're friend wants to do standard stuff, cubase will probably cut the cake.

I had problems with previous versions of Cubase for years (regarding stability and ease of use), but now it is great. They redesigned it from the ground up, rather than building on what had become a big mess.
