I am trying to activate my AES/EBU digital outs on my Pulsar II/Scope project card and I cannot find any options for this in the routing window's drop down menu under Hardware I/O's.Is it somewhere else?

I see SPDIF destination, but no AES/EBU destination. I tried activating the SPDIF (professional and/or consumer)and didn't get any signal, nothing.

Was AES/EBU even ever implemented?

AES/EBU working here on pulsar1, using spdif src and dest modules.

Nothing special to do.

I wonder what I am doing wrong...better check everything again, and swap cables...Thanks for the feedback.

I notice that the SPDIF Dest. module has a "DIG In" what connects to that?

Manual states: [...] S/PDIF dest: These represent the card’s S/PDIF digital outputs. Use the Dig connection to send audio data from the Digital Wave source module to this output(both modules have a Dig connection)

Are you using optical or electrical output?

I am trying to go from the Mixer outputs into the SPDIF Dest. module. Is that not possible?

Am I to understand from the manual that you cannot use both the ADAT connections and the AES/EBU connections at the same time? If that's the case then this is all irrelevant, I need to be able to do both. If it's either/or then it's no help.

AES/EBU is the xlr like cable that's part of pulsar + IO plate.

No optical output there.

And yes, you can use the aes/ebu as an output from cw mixers, so, instead of sending to analog out, you send to digital aes/ebu out to a digital module like a 31 bands graph EQ before sending to monitor for example.

I am just trying to connect the AES/EBU XLR cable to my TASCAM DA-30 DAT machine to use it as a headphone monitor.

I have plugged the AES/EBU Out to the DA-30 AES/EBU in, selected the correct input on the front panel of the DA-30.

Then, in the routing window, I connected the output of the Scope mixer to the Left and Right Input on the SPDIF Dest. module and...nothing.

If not, can't help you... don't know da30... sorry

Yes, it has monitor enabled. I use to use it ages ago with a Digidesign system, so I do know how it works.

I have done this before, in other words.

Do both the in and out AES/EBU have to be connected? I am only using the out. I have no use for the in, actually.

Well. don't I feel stupid.

I have the Mixer outs going to the SPDIF Dest. module and the Analog Dest. module.

The analog destination module connects directly to my Amp, so I have the the mixer output gain turned way down.

When I turn it up, guess what? Signal to the DAT machine...

This is one of those "D'oh" moments.

Thanks for your help, sorry to have wasted some of your time.
