after I installed this app and it stopped playing in the middle of a file my 'wave source 1' is gone.
Uninstalled it, re-installed scope drivers etc - no cure. Wave source one doesn't do anything anymore, in whatever app. Wave source 2 is OK - I'm running Win2K server.

cheers, Tom

That sucks!

I hadn't loaded it in any machine with creamware hardware, just my internet computer.

Maybe everyone should stay away from this.

Sorry, wouldn't have posted it if I had known there were any problems.

I'll give it a try on my son's computer. He wants to do some multitrack recording (singing along with a song) and he's just 9 so the app will probably be very good for him. But to avoid frustration I have to try it first. I wanted to install Logic Fun in the machine but it doesn't support XP!

This might be a long shot but if Logic Fun works like normal Logic, this should work:

Install Logic Fun on a machine on which it will install. Now, copy the folder which you installed it to, to the machine which you can't install it on. There may also be a Logic preferences file in the C:Windows folder which you can copy over.

I have no idea how protection works on Logic Fun, but it's worth a try

edit: this is assuming it's only the installer which you can't run in XP - this was the case with Logic versions before 4.8 if I remember correctly. However, it was still technically possible to run it on Windows2000 (XP wasn't around at the time, or was just released. 2000 is essentially the same as XP)

thanks, GaryB
I knew about the #10 limit, but not about all the details.
Got Wave1 back after kicking out all obscure wav stuff from the registry and copying a .mdl from another installation - dunno which cured it.

or try
Ntrax

Not for free but cheap.

Prehaps you might want to add

for some issues.

Hi,

I tried it and it worked 50%. I mean, the app opens as expected (after moving it from win98 to xp) but it can't see any audio driver. There is a utility provided to setup audio but it doesn't help.

I'll try the N-track then.

I ended with a bundle of programs from Acoustica for $70
http://www.acoustica.com/products.htm

very simple and straight forward stuff, but well thought out, no gimmicks.
easy to switch (and convert) between Mp3, Ogg and Wav.

You should try Graphedit that comes free with DXSDK (Microsoft's Direct X Software Dev Kit), it has a similar interface as SFP (virtual connection wires) but it allows for much greater control and setup of the filters involved. (Plus, you can add DX audio plugins, including NI's)

as a multitracker for mastering?
Graphedit maybe a wonderful tool, when it comes to video editing and special routing things, I`d say...But you may post a screenshot here, so we all could benfit from how to use graphedit as a multitracker mastering machine?!

No multitracking capabilities AFIK, just a quick conversion tool and what not.
