IRQ Problems

Hey Pulsarians,
I have bad problem with my system. I had a system with Pulsar1 and Pulsar2 sharing one
interrupt. Up to this everything worked fine.
But then I installed win2000 testsystem on
another partition. After that my pulsar1 and pulsar2 uses their own interrupts(Pulsar1 irq5 and Pulsar2 irq10). Since i´ve made this
alteration my system freezes after rebooting
every 20 -30 minutes. I called the creamware
hotline to reach help.
They said I have to assign the interrupts
manually in the bios. But this isn´t possible
with my motherboard (Aopen ak72).
If anyone have made the same expierience like
me and if anyone knows a solution, please let
me know.

If you look into your mobo manuals, you should find a litle table showing which PCI slot is sharing with what. For examples, the PCI slot 1 is 'usualy' sharing with AGP (in CUSL2-C, slot 1 is sharing with slot 5), the PCI slot 2 with USB...

So you can find 2 pci slot that are sharing together and put your creamware card in those, no need to change bios then. Maybe only to give them IRQ5 or IRQ9 (in hardware, IRQ9 as the highest priority). creamware recommand IRQ5.

Sometimes you can solve these problems buy removing all the cards and putting them in one at a time until you find out which one is causing the conflict. It helps if you put them in diffferent slots. The hardware manager/devices will sometimes *but not always* tell you if there is a conflict.
