in fact, the snare beats kill it.
either something more rolling, with breaks - or some Casios could be interesting - SK1 or the old MT series...
option 2 would be definetely interesting, imho it will survive the toys and get a unique touch. no kidding - I'm a collector of that stuff
cheers, tom

I like this track a lot and imho. Those drums are absolutly fine, ignore wot the others have said maybe stick a hat or ride later on in the track... i'd say a finnished track. Does the job..
The other track you posted i'd like the drums to be slightly brighter/sharper and the delayed/arp bass seems very slighlty out of time.(the delay/arp timing that is) Also wasn't to keen on the bass sound that came in later at bout 1.40. like the vwarp sound. cool track though
the pads on both r tasty.
it would b nice to know wot syths and such u used for the sounds on both tracks if u don't mind sharing this.
good first tracks.

For the pads I've used Arturia's CS-80V, LinPlug's Albino and NI's Absynth.
Still trying to get the bass part right for the DZS track. The mix I've posted uses 3 variations of the same bass patch from the old Cubase a1 synth with different FX, volume and pan to try and get the right sound, but I think I need to sort the bass sequence out too, as it doesn't flow too well.
Thanks to all for the feedback - will hopefully finish off these 2 soon and finally get to work on some new stuff!

hi there! An inspiring track! I must agree with braincell here, the drum doesn't cut it. Unless you're deliberately after this type of effect, then reconsidering the rythm section would be appropriate imo.
I think you have 2 big possibilities here:
1. leave all the space to the beautiful textures which you've carved. This approach would make a meditative relaxing piece, which is nice (do you know how badly people need to relax these days?).
or
2. create an uplifting rythm track which would propell the piece rather than dragging it down (like your current rythm does, imvho)... An effective bassline could also be very effective at some point in the song. Imo this song could start quietly, gradually rise to a climactic point and then receed. It could be incredible, but all this is my very personal point of view, of course.
It is not uncommon for me to completely change even the first building blocks of a song, which ofen serve as a "mold" which is to be removed when the piece is fixed...
Anyhow, a very nice track, keep at it!
