no sound when cubase loses focus

When I want to work in both cubase SX 2.0 and SFP 3.1 enviroment cubase stops working when swithing to SFP. It probably has an easy answer to it but I just can't find it. You probably all know the answer.

Play in background must be set to on. It must be somewhere in a menu.

in the device settings, where you select the driver, if I remember...

Yeah, it's the "Release ASIO Driver in Background" checkbox in the VSTMultitrack dialog.

'tis very useful for switching scope projects without Cubase bitching about "no audio engine, no ASIO" etc.

No gentlemen, not on my system! I have this checked on. Actually everytime cubase looses focus, cubase stops working... After a year -mind you, not of continious searching!- i still haven't found the answer :-/ Pulsarians of the world, HELP ME!!!

As Cream said...if the checkbox is ticked, it means "If the Cubase window loses focus (i.e. becomes background), release the ASIO driver"

When the ASIO driver is released, you have no sound!

Maybe you'd wanna try this:

Open your task manager and go to processes.
Find the SFP.exe and Cubase.exe.

Right click on SFP.exe and go to "Set priority" . Set priority of SFP.exe one step lower. You have to play around a little to notice the effect.

I had this problem using logic audio.

Hope this fixes your problem.
