Hi Royston. Steinberg recently changed their forum software. The new url is:

Yeah, I noticed that. I guess that's why my username/password no longer works (?), but that's just poor migration really.

I've been cursing Steinberg for about twenty years now; it's a hard habit to break!

Hi Valis
I can't do the test you mention, because
after select Multimedia ASIO , launch the
tests (but it does not find any ports to
test) and re-select the ASIO Scope, I've
no more audio click in SX!!! I've to
relaunch SX to retrieve the audio click
so , I can't really test your information.
But thanks

Still cursing. Today, the email I sent to webmaster@steinberg.net got bounced back to me "undelivered"

That's three emails to three different addresses auto-responded to or undelivered now.

Does anybody know of an email address one can use to contact Steinberg? Hopefully the one I sent to Arbiter will get through!

With my previous mobo (nForce2), I had midi notes shifting too early. Now with my new mobo (nForce3), midi is shifting too late
When I start a project in sx, it records fine. But then after a little use it starts to get later and later, finally ending up to 1/8 bar or more too late. I'm using sx 1.06. Other midi apps I've tried are functioning fine, so it's definitely cubase fault. I'm looking for a solution to get rid of cubase.

Hi, I had the early midi problem when my computer was in ACPI mode - the cure.....reinstall XP in Standard PC mode.

I do recall someone else posting that the ASIO Multimedia 'profiling' of your setup needed to be completed before switching to ASIO Scope drivers for things to work properly
This is really strange but years ago I was having no end of trouble with an Echo card and midi until I successfully ran the ASIO multimedia test, even though I never used the MMX drivers.

So this was actually the first thing I tried when I encountered problems with sx3 but I have not been able to get it to pass the test (lost sync and buffers). I guessed that the drivers I would need in the project were the Wave ones, correct? To what do I connect these?

thanks...

I really need an animated .gif of me bashing my head against a brick wall right about now!

I just received the following response from Arbiter to the email which contained my questions:

"Dear Mr Day,

This e-mail address is ok for questions.

Or mtsales@arbitergroup.com

Regards,
Music Tech Support."

gggggnnnnnnnnhhhhhhhhhh!!

*SMACK!* *SMACK!* <- sound of my head striking wall.

edit: should I respond with this following question?

"Dear sir,

Thank you for your response.

Which email address might I use in order to get an answer to my questions, rather than just being OK to ask them?"

I would assume u just need Wav drivers present in your project and that the ASIO Multimedia setup page would need to be configured to 'see' them (there's a checkbox or something if I recall.) Again I've been a Logic user for years now and never had midi timing issues when I used Nuendo myself, I'm only repeating something I recall reading here on the forums some time back. I tried to search for "ASIO Multimedia setup" and a few other variations here to shed more light on the subject but didn't find the topic in question. Perhaps someone else might stumble across the post though...

yes, wav modules must be present in your routing window in order to do the test.

anything you want, although they don't have to be connected to anything for the test to work, just present in the routing window.
