are you sure you don't have them? they should be in the install. if they aren't there or is they are corrupt you could manually recopy them into the dsp file folder. more likely though, the ptoblem is that they are marked "read only" in properties. uncheck this and they should work.
this seems to be a problem with the downloaded version more than the cd version....

the third party files will either be in the oxe(if from the shop) or with the plugin itself, in which case rtm.

Try this:

start>run> cmd.exe

Now assuming that you have installed SFP4 into C:SFP type the following:

attrib -r -s -h /s /d C:SFP

This is a problem that seems to occur sometimes with the downloaded installers, I never have the problem when installing from CD.

I've posted this in several threads now, original thread was here:

OK, I will check the properties. But all modules that don't work are downloaded from here (Planet-Z) where people send in their own files and there's no install (oxe) just plain mdl/dev, assuming you already have those dsp-files. I have installed on my system these, Pulsar2:
- profit-5
- proTone
- Minimax
- synth 1&2
- EDS16i v3
- Modular2 & III
- Effects Package 2
- SPL Attacker v3
- Mixer Package 1
- STS 3000 v3
- Poison FM v3

The WT files are for WaveTables. Something went wrong with the numbering on these WT files when Neutron7 made his Neutron Star. Copy WT01 an rename it WT00, same can be done for WT51. Have fun with Neutron Star

Sorry, if they're specific to devices they are often posted to the site of the developer in question...

None of the downloaded zip/dev/mdl-files downloaded from here have contained a dsp-file. And I have downloaded a lot to check it out. I will try the hidden-file-trick tonight though. Some of the problems are related to that.

It doesn't sound like the hidden file trick is the issue here. I do recall that certain developers had dsp-file packs available as a direct download from their website, but its been so long since I've needed to do that for any of the devices I have I can't recall who it was necessary for.

Perhaps track down updated versions of the devices in question and see if the files are still necessary or included?

A friend of mine bought an used Pulsar-2 and he got a cd with demo-versions of Obsidian devices and there I found the dsp-file, great. But my system has become so unstabe now, there are some devices/modules fault, but I don't know which one/ones. I have re-installed my computer with minimal programs and when I put all my dev/mdl back it still hangs. Removed all yesterday with only my payed modules, seems to work now, lets see what happens tonight when I copy back all dev/mdl. I ran Profit-5 and played with 5notes, suddenly the computer freezes but I can still play on the Profit, but no program change...

I had to remove all the Obsidian dsp files from my SFP installation - they were causing all sorts of problems. I don't think they were all coded properly, SFP didn't like them in the DSP folder.

Hey, once I've got rid of the fucking Obsidian Shaper dsp-file the system is up-and-running again. Great!
