Why you bought your Creamware product?

A place to talk about whatever Scope music/gear related stuff you want.

I bought mine because in those days they had a good support for new Drivers and technologies like ASIO, EASY, GSIF in where Creamware was a pioneer but unfortunely they are not supporting it any more

Well that's my story, tell us yours.

I wanted all the flexibility of a software modular synth with a sound that can compete (and in many respects surpass) my hardware modular.

After going through reaktor, vaz, tassman, and the clavia modulars I feel like I finally found a home (Mod3+Flexor and soon to add RD)...

I just needed a new mixer in my homestudio, the preferred Mackie 24 channel mixer was about as expensive as a Pulsar2...

I was just a musician with no knowledge of DAW. But I really wanted one regardless. I was extremely lucky enough to allow a salesman to talk me into buying a pulsar 2 instead of the echo mona I was going to get. It took me more than a year to realise how good a system it is. But what a learning curve!

Does this mean you believe there really isn't any support for these products anymore?

I am looking to purchase a scope system and I am alil timid with the quality of the support and new drivers. Any information will be appreciated.

ASIO works great. It does all the evil floating point 16/24bit, supports up to 64 channel even. What more could you want?

I've never used GSIF and EASI, I don't even know what uses EASI even. ADAT and SPDIF work pretty well too, so it'll talk to lots of different things.

Anyone using Gigastudio? I don't, and if I did I'd probably just have it on its own machine, but I'm curious if GSIF works. Can't be bothered to track down and install some dirty evuuul 'extended' evaluation version.

Anyway I bought this card cuz some angle in my wall burst out, and aliens walked in, and mumbled something about resistance being futile or some such. I don't remember really well. But it works great! Nothing else like it yet for the moment. Everything else is just vst plugins on a DSP, this has full routing thinger. Integrates perfectly with software and outboard gear, you can have all your outboard stuff in little boxes in the software, and connect/route it like you would anything else. It'll adapt to whatever way you like to work. I'm not sure how anyone else manages to live without it, and why after like 40-50 years of computing, including a good 20 years of desktop stuff, it's still not standard. Slowly but surely, I guess =P.

I bought my first Pulsar card in 2000 as a replacement for my Ensoniq AudioPCI. I was initally looking for just a good I/O card (Echo Gina), but then my brother Jared found CreamWare through searching for a MiniMoog emulation, and then we found MiniScope. "And hey, it's got I/Os too." So we bought Pulsar, and we've never looked at anything else since!!

I got my first Pulsar1 3 months or so after the release: A friend from a friend came to me and wanted me to explain him how it worked - after a couple of weeks or so he bought another Pulsar1 so I could check it out more closely at home

I got my 1st Pulsar back in March 1999...
Software version was 1.1, UKNOW synth just came out.

I got it according to ReD_MuZe warm recommendation. That day I was looking for a piece of gear to enhance my studio. Every feature i was looking for - he said "Oh, my Pulsar can do that...". It took too long until i dared to ask him: "What the hell is Puslar???"
A few days later i bought my Pulsar. Indeed, one of the longest eras in my life was the time between purchase and arriving back home to install it. Luckily the installation went smooth.
What i didn't like in it that time: It had no bundled Reverb (Well now it has  )

The old Pulsar 1 is still useful and inspiring after almost 6 years - It was indeed a wise, wonderful purchase.

i bought my first card 5 years or so ago because i wanted the pc to be at the center of my studio and pulsar was the ONLY product that could do it. 5 years and 5 cards later, it's still the ONLY card that can do what it does(full studio in a box). the synths were a welcome bonus.

as to drivers, easi was a dead end and i haven't missed it. asio and asio2 work great for me. the wav drivers work great for me and although there is no gsif2 driver yet, LOTS of great work has been done with the gsif driver, ask zimmer....

I remember the old Tripledat forum in the late 90s when the Pulsar was first introduced. There was excited conversation with the CW crew about the new Scope idea, and lots of us enthusiastic Tripledat users jumped for the intro offer. I've got to say that with a few exceptions (automation device), CW has delivered on their original premise. It's truly an amazing product.

Here's hoping Frank and the boys have some treats in store for '05.

They already started with the release of the XP limited edition of tripledat as well as a new Osiris XP.

Hopefully they will bring more new goodies in 2005.

I was one of the first buyers, I think (Dec. 1998). I just wanted to have a noise-free card and new synths with endless possibilities to tweak.
After buying Pulsar1, I saw that it is not necessary (for my purpose) to buy other studio components. All I wanted was enclosed in Pulsar or came after a short time (STW effects bundle, other 3rd party tools, the whole planetZ freeware).
I can't imagine working without my Scope.

I remember reading an article in one of the magazines. the power of Pulsar seemed to be unbelieveable, mixers, FX and synths all in one package! Seemed too good to be true. Within a month of the article my local music shop was holding a demo. I went to the demo and walked out with Pulsar and the A16. I've never had any regrets. Just bought another Scope card for new computer about a month ago.

I've bought my Pulsar exaclty a year ago! Let's say Happy Birthday, to my little baby!

Seriously I've bought mine to sobstitute my old creative Sound Blaster. I remember the excitement when the first SB Live! came out: it had a dedicated processor (EMU 10k1) that incredibly made possible some realtime effects like the reverb!

I've used it a lot, but the frequence's response was terrible and no dynamics... So I've decided to change and with my pulsar now I'm extremely happy!
Incredible routing capabilites, very good devices, hi-end fidelity, and, last but not least, a FANTASTIC forum!

Thanks a lot to John and to everybody writes in Planet Z!

I wanted a high-quality soundcard with DSP on board and a range of DSP effects. It was like an all-in-one choice instead of a Powercore and although you can't use some of the more versatile functions in XTC mode I must say I'm not disappointed.
The best thing about the system is that it is so flexible - I don't use most of what it can do but if I need it, it's there
