On the Modular forum I've been talking about converting an old 4-out patch to the new 8-out. I can ctrl-C / ctrl-V and paste the individual modules into the new empty 8-out, but:

- The new 8-out module has no drop-down menus ie: drum, effect, env, filter, gate etc, and it doesn't matter where I save the patch (of course the original empty 8-out has all the menus).
- Although I can save the preset file of the original 4-out version, the new version doesn't like it. It seems to load OK, but nothing changes. Sequencer modules are empty and no settings change. I can't even cut and paste between MDS-8 modules.

Has anyone else tried this, or even solved the "disappearing drop-down" problem?

Any thoughts gratefully received.

Hi Spirit,
I'll try and test this myself in the next couple of days, so at least I can confirm the bug.

Do you have the old patch?
If so, send it to ben@nortica.co.uk and I'll try and recreate exactly what you've done.

If not, I'll just have a go with an existing patch.

Cheers,
Ben

I'm sorry to say I can't - it's a special patch I'm making to order for someone. I thought I'd rev it up a bit with extra outs....

I'm building another one and I'll see whether the same thing happens...
