Wrong STS sampler

and one thing (if i may)!?
when i do "automatic unistal" of v3 all my project disaper's, and all extra devices too - (rm242, sts3000, poison & some free devices disapear).
is this normal with v3 or...?!
i think that i'm not doing anything wrong. i was made 2.04 unistal many times and after that i can found all projects and devices in his folders!?
but with v3... strange!?

Sandro, you can easily delete the unwanted replies. just hit edit in the chosen reply, then look at the bottom part of the screen and see the squares and corresponding texts - one is 'delete'

Yup, edit it then click the delete checkbox...

BTW, I did some experiements as promised, the "invalid version of STS" message does appear if you try to use a 2.x STS in a 3.x project. If you are getting this every time, then you probably overwrote your 3.x STS with the old version.

For my STS4000, it was autoinstalled (I never entered a key for it), and it worked good except for a few (seemly just visual) bugs like "can't find Eq2" or something. It worked fine after I pressed okay, I created a program and loaded a preexisting program, saved the project and it loaded fine the next time.

When I loaded a 2.04a project that had an STS, it asked me to replace the sampler with a new version, and when it loaded the new version none of the programs were loaded. ***(see below) So, I guess the solution to that, is to use Pulsar2.04a with Pulsar 2.04a projects, at least those containing an STS.

To get a V3 STS installed you may want to reinstall V3 again, since it sounds like your V3 STS got overwritten.

(edit: *** someone on Pulsar-scope just reported that an STS4000 v2.04a project with programs asked for a new sampler version, he pointed it to the STS5000 and all his programs loaded!? So it must be possible, maybe I wasn't doing something correctly)

well, it not way that i change new-sts with old!!

1. i instal new windows and v3

2. unistal v3 (full reinstalation with all drivers) and instal 2.04a to check is media player work, because don't work with v3. (remeber, you help me to solve this - wmp play from second wave source in v3 - for me!?)
but this time i don't instal sts3000 and use it with 2.04a!!!

3. instal v3, sts3000, other devices and make new def-project with sts3000!! and then starts all....

i don't need 2.04a anymore and i can solve this problem with complete windows reinstaling but i think that's some "unknowing bug"!!?

Subhuman, it didn't help in my case. I did something else: opened the project in v2 then deleted sts, then opened in v3 and loaded all the programs I wanted to use. Not too special way but effective. Sometimes hammer is a better tool than anything else

Unfortunatelly. I had to do everything manually: first to write down all settings from v2 then to adjust and drag and everything necessary into v3 (it wasn't too simple btw). But works and rocks!!! (besides the fact I had to connect my sampler to analog ins because of the P1 spdif bug...)

btw.
i can open song in cubase what somebody made with atari 15 years ago and don't need to use 2 (or more - who knows) version of cubase for older and newer songs.
i don't know any other program which can't open own document in older version!?
for me is normal that is able to open every old project (2.04a) and device in newest versions of program (v3, v4, v15, v25.....)!

I've been working with ProTools for 4 years (at my work) and it isn't that buggy. And yes, you can open PT4 sessions in PT5 (and of course it is not possible to open PT5 projects in PT4 unless they are converted). There are (or were) incompatibilities with PC/Mac versions but it is a problem if you have to go multiplatform. ProTools for me is one of the easiest and most stabile systems, even Audiomedia ProTools and Digi 001. I never had to go to any forum to find any kind of troubleshooting because I didn't need one. That's what I want from CW products.

I have the same problem, with sampler version pop-ups, which i can get arround by browsing to the new .dev location (each time), but noticed that no-one had picked up on an item ealier in the thread...
"cant open the sample editor..."which i receive , followed by endless

"nil reference or dispatch == NULL on left side of " pop-up messages

i recently upgraded with the pro pack, then from the 3000 to 5000 ( at huge expense,) and would expect that this would work as the projects are all new (the sts500 wasnt in any old projects)...anybody any ideas how i can resolve this .I have a clean installation ( windows & version 3 only, no register entrys from old versions

hey, joe!

i'm finally solve this problem. one guy (thanks deelan) teach me how to do:

1. instal v3
2. instal sts
3. re-run v3 setup - without previously unistall pulsar or sts!!!
4. delete old sts device and use new from "sampler" folder!

we have this problem beacause we previously unistaled v2.04 and v3 setup don't found old sts device, and they can't make update to newest version!!
