My minds all but made up and I'm pretty certain I'm gonna get a scope professional card (14dsp). I'm not to sure about how the dsp is allocated and need some help here. how many instances of the modular can be run? Is it possible to run the modular/solaris and run some simple fx?
I already own an 8 input card is it possible to route the audio in from that card to the scope system in realtime and run fx?

regarding your first set of questions: you can use as much modular patches as your DSPs allow, and yes, on a scope pro you can put solaris/modular and some fx (unless you have this massive DSP hog of a mod patch).
about the other soundcard... which one? real time will only be possible through hard patching, i guess. but first, tell us which card you already have.

No idea about the routing, but DSP-wise, I have an 18 DSPs setup, and I can run a mixer (STM2448) plus 3-4 synths/M2 patch, plus a load of FX (say 12 channels of eq/compression + at least 10-15 noodling/aux effects, including a few reverbs and delays), with some DSP to spare.
Of course, it depends what synth effects you will run, complex Modular2 patches will take more DSP and so on, but you definitely can get a few polyphonic synths + effects running on a Scope Pro.

Well, I can't answer your questions, but I welcome you aboard the Creamware/Scope adventure. Lots of musical possibilities await you. 
When you get the card, please check out some of the cool 3rd party devices that have been released recently, like John Bowen's Solaris 3, Adern's Flexor 1.5, Warp69's reverbs etc. (and of course, CWA's own plugins are quite good too). They need your support!

). They need your support!The scope card will replace your delta. If you need the extra i/o sell the delta and buy an adat a/d coverter or something.
I had a dude buy a guitar midi converter off me the other day and he wanted a demonstration since he wasn't sure if a standard midi device was compatible with his Mac (he was new so I was being helpful).
I ran the midi through minimax and vinco and he was completely blown away by the environment, he was saying...I thought Logic was the best...no creamware is the best lol.
