Somebody here at PlanetZ probably has a virus. Recently I have had several emails suposedly comming from planetz people, which included attached vira. Probably somebody here at planetZ uses outlook junk or another email program using the ourlook address list, and the virus picks up the addresses and uses them as "from" addresses.

That somebody probably has Gary, Shayne White and Mister Swim (and maybe marcuspocus) in his address book ... to give you a clue.

There are robots which trawl forums such as this to dredge for email addresses though...it's not necessarily an end-user infection.

It's reported here before, Immanuel, you can't do anything against it

99% of that crap doesn't even qualify as a virus - it contains an attachment that installs a hidden mail server that (ab)uses the host system to send spam.

If there's only one single idiot per 10k recipents you can make a fair living from whatever is offered this way
It's annoying, but harmless - like those mail delivery errors returning the stuff to sender (in this case me, because someone used my adress) - it's unavoidable so I just move it to the trash. The 3 seconds manual action is much faster than installing and maintaining an automated process

cheers, Tom

I never use mail clients, just go to the site mail area...but still receive plenty of that stuff.
