Hey guys, I am hopefully going to be a new scope buyer within the next few months and I had a question with using cubase with a scope card. Is it possible to use the cubase freeze function with scope synths? I don't believe it could be used or would have any affect due to the fact that the freeze function is meant to lower cpu usage and I don't believe it would do anything with regards to DSP usage. Any information will be appreciated.

No, CreamWare card operate in realtime, so freeze doesn't work.

Here's what you do: if you want to get rid of a synth to save DSP usage, you create a new audio track in Cubase. Route the synth's output to ASIO, record whatever synth lines you want, mute the MIDI track, and then set the synth's voices to 0. That's it!

Or solo the synth track and perform a mixdown having the "Real-time export" and "Import to Audio Track" options checked. Then you can disable the plug-in and save DSP.

you can also save a preset if you might wish to come back to a previous state...
