4DSP cards are always gen 1. 6DSP cards are always gen 2. 3 or 14/15 DSP cards can be either, I can't remember when the change was. Must have been 2000 or 2001. If you buy a second hand card, always check the production date.
That's exactly what I needed to know, so if someone now could elaborate ...

Re: Scope SRB
It's the same situation wherever you go, take for example cubase.net, they say "go and make music" that's what the lay will write, but the moderators or anyone in the know will make mention of the fact that many more people who don't ever frequent a forum or even visit the web just to post some user ...

Re: Scope SRB
No worries.
Glad to see people so bereft of information that they can't either share or simply don't want to.
Now I see why this system is so poorly proliferated, due to the attitudes of it's main users.

As I say, Cubase is causing errors in the library files when scanning, now if someone has any knowledge in order to explain why then please do.Fluxpod wrote:synthguy wrote:I try to be very level headed and clear about it.

Will they or do they still make PCI cards at all?
I know some companies such as RME say they do until demand stops, echo and maybe m audio but what about SC?
Any "inside" info here?

Re: Scope SRB
So no one has an answer?
Typical stuff-shirts too engaged to see what the rest of the world is doing, luckily for SC they don't have to run a forum now isn't it.
Fortunately, for the future VSTIM was actually developed, now at least there is potential for non-engineering types to get on board, hey ...

Re: Scope SRB
Hi,
If I may ask a question here....
Those 4 DSP pulsar and 6 DSP pulsars, can the latter ever be generation 1 or were they all made as gen 2.
Another problem I'm having is understanding this ULLI thing (information is either scant, scarce or non-existent at HQ).
From stuff I've read here ULLI ...

Re: Scope SRB
the word was, when the 15 chip cards became 14 chip cards, that since the 15th chip was always reserved for on board functions, that at max load the other 14 chips could still handle all or most of those functions, so the 15th chip was removed to save money(less redundancy). this may or may not be ...

Re: Scope SRB
All XTC plugins are listed as VST 2.0 plugins and dont get blacklisted.
That is not the info I get from HQ (fortunately).
The 15th DSP should not worry you. It is totally hidden in the scope OS for the user.
Well I still would like an answer if possible.
I still do not understand what app ...

Re: Just installed Scope V5
Hi synthguy, thanks for the additional information.
So with Cubase 5 and scope 5 XTC runs which is confirmed by several users in here.
So you will be fine if you just spend the time and effort to set it up correctly.

What Cubase version do you run ? 5.11
Did you do a clean install of Cubase ? Yes
What scope version do you have ? latest
Did you install scope including XTC mode without error ? The little app inside the installed folder would not complete
Does normal scope mode run ? Have not tried

Re: Just installed Scope V5
The scope devices made for the DSP DO run as VSTs in Cubase.
Are you saying that in fact there are two sets of plug ins, one for XTC mode and one for Scope Mode proper?
And what is VZRecording.dll anyway? It's showing as VST 1.0 and from Steinberg KB articles, that standard is no longer ...

Re: Just installed Scope V5
synthguy, tbh the overwhelming majority of pulsarians use Scope OS instead of XTC mode. This is far more stable and versatile than just running the devices as plugins in your VST host... So I advise you to give Scope OS a try!
