Re: Mac OSX
Excellent points. Managing growth and multiplying marketing channels can be more treacherous than barely scraping by. It's also easy to take decades of engineering experience for granted when considering pushing a tool like this into consumer hands. I know I wouldn't want to handhold leagues of ...
Re: Mac OSX
@Fede: I think I beat Gary up enough over this already, lol! It's not his company, and he's said over and over again that he supports the effort to get OSX online. I do think that just getting more people to buy the product is the "up by the bootstraps" approach, which doesn't seem to be achieving ...
Re: Mac OSX
Not to devolve into a future of apple thread - but I'm not personally so concerned about the Mac Pro. It seems unlikely to me that they'll blow it off entirely, but on the other hand, my 27"iMac has 20Gigs of ram and thunderbolt, and is probably fast enough to handled any audio task I'd ever throw ...
Re: Mac OSX
Well - I'll definitely be buying one - and there is simply no question that it is by any reasonable measure the very best value in digital audio. Period.
I don't mean to be down on the product or the inventors at all. I'd just like to see some real money get behind it, and with so much depth and ...

Re: Mac OSX
Fair enough - I am excited to see the OpenScope initiative, and your point about the platforms longevity is well taken; that it is still here speaks for itself. It just seems to me that a product with so much depth and history should realize a lot more market penetration, and the fact it hasn't ...

Gentlemen,
Thank you for your replies!

Re: Mac OSX
With all due respect to GaryB, I guess there would be no reason to us OSX unless one wanted to, say, safely connect their computer to the internet, or enjoy a mature and consistent interface, or the rock solid memory and thread management of unix, or buy entirely stable computers that are ...

Re: XITE : your wishes
On the event at the gig - I had everything prepped and happy - sound checked... ready to roll... Had a Behringer fader pack in the loop for the first time.. and then right as we were about to hit our first note, just after turning up the master - kaboom.. no sound... nothing.. nada. I thought I'd ...

Don't know if they've fixed it in Scope5 - but I had an absolutely catastrophic live on stage event that killed audio on my pulsar system resulting from some kind of MIDI overload... and the system hasn't seen the light of day since.

Re: Xite1 works currently only wit desktop not laptop ?
Yikes - this is a deal killer for me too... I don't really need all the horsepower - not that I'll hate it or anything... but I DO need the portability.

Don't you just hate it when that happens!
This actually brings us back the OSC thing... but we can take that up another day..
I was thinking maybe your FOH guy usually set up the board... sorry for the long winded explanation of what you are intimately familiar with, lol.
As to the headset - super cool!

Trying to help with this cool console!
Hey all...
So I've been looking at the mixer in question over at the following thread:
http://www.planetz.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=20646
The mixer is designed to consolidate FOH and monitor mix for a single operator.
The bottom of the UI contains a fixed view of 16 faders divided into two sets ...

Has SonicCore ever said anything at all about OSC?
Yes for the future ethernet would be a smart move allowing OSC so we can actually control all this power
Sorry to pile on here.. but seriously - the OSC thing is almost as important to me as more I/O from a live application perspective..
I've tried to look - but I don't find any comments about ...

I would love to control a scope sequencer setup with my Lemur but without OSC it's not happening.
Just wanted to mention - the Lemur is super cool - but want to make sure everyone understands that OSC isn't just about supporting it... increasingly controllers will support OSC directly, but in the ...

Please do not post about me. That is off the topic. I am sorry if I offended you.
No braincell - as in most of the threads you destroy - you very actively turn every topic into a discussion about you and your views.... lately you seem fixated on this new system being twice the price for ten times ...

To call me an idiot merely is a reflection on your own immaturity. There is no need to attack people you do not agree with. The thread is about the SPF 5. To call it expensive or overpriced is a fair criticism no matter what you think of it.
