There was mention in another post about Mac vs PC, which one sounds best. I just thought I would add my bit and share a secret that has completey transformed my sound.

http://www.mapleshaderecords.com/tweaks/powercord.html

You won't believe the difference these AC power cords make. Nevermind that the rest of the 50ft of cable behind the wall is standard flex (that's just a minor detail you see).

Whenever I plug in using this cord my mixes are tighter and warmer.
If I plug it into my toaster, the toast just tastes better.
And items in the fridge are no longer just cold, they are really COOL and hip to the groove now man!

Cheers.

I know!!!!
These make all the difference in the world.
The biggest difference they made in my life was when i replaced the powercord to my alarm clock.

I woke up earlier and i was'nt as tired as i was before!!!!

seems I have to consult a physician - considering what's behind my rack something must be wrong with my ears

I´m quite amazed at this... How and why can it change the sound to such an extent? I don´t really understan the fact behind it. But deffinitely interesting, although quite expensive for just a cord.

Nestor, you cannot understand what's behind it because there is nothing behind
...except the fact that you and me are idiots because we don't dare to sell that crap
I recently read about a hifi highender who was concerned that his speaker cables didn't touch the floor (of course !) for that would degrade the sound. Funny dudes with lot of self suggestive capabilities.

cheers, Tom

After you buy those power cords, don't forget to get a padded room. You know, for the sound absorbtion

And remember not to eat any cabbage before mixing to hear low end frequencies (suitable for all but especially for Bassdude  )

Mix it with plenty of alcohol and you'll soon be laying down some steam'n smooth and chunky bass at the same time. I can't believe I just said that.

Jeeeez, I thought it was a joke site, but they actually appear to be a serious company. Totally absurd.

They even sell little chopstick tripods for $12 (!) to hold your speaker wire off of the carpet.

What a con!

Oh they are for real alright! And it seems there are plenty of these "audiophile" companies around. But I guess for some people it's like a hobby and if they want to spend money on this sort of thing then good luck to 'em! I guess you could call this x-treme audiophiles stuff.

Here in Berlin it's easy to spend 300.000 € for a hi-fi. Sounds not bad, really. Well, if you don't need a Ferrari...

Here I got a big old padded box for sale. It's the ideal studio which I have bean  using for a while now. It is bascially a big cardboard box lined with inch thick polystyrene. I must admit it gets a bit hot in there though.

I bought it for a mere $1000 but looking to get a newer model. Any takers?

(Give me a break!)
