I think I'm losing my mind..
SFP 3.1 used to start up automatically and now I had to reïnstall SFP and now it doens't show up at start up as it used to. When I start up SFP nothing shows up. Not on my taskbar and not next to my windowsclock. When I try to start it again it says "Please close all Creamware app before starting Scope.." When I pres control+alt+del I can see SFP is active but I can't acces it.. Please help me out! I really searched hard on this forum and didn't find anyone with the same problem so I really hope someone can help me out!! THANX!

hoi,
this can be caused when multiple programs simultaneously add a tray icon, it happens here occasionally. Or when Explorer's crashed, icons may not be restored properly. Just force close SFP from Task Manager and restart it.

Hmm no this isn't the case here. When I force it to end and restart it. It does restart but I can't acces it anywhere because there Is no icon I can click on. But I know SFP is active because I can see the drivers are active (configurationscreen, mulitmedia, audio)
Anyone???? I'm really really desperate!!!

Yu're running XP?
Did you apply Service Pack 1? It was doing this before i installed service pack 1 of XP

Yes - I also had this problem with Windows XP for a while. If the service pack doesn't help, try contacting Microsoft support using the interactive online support request - they were able to help me restore my taskbar so that it would load correctly. I had to go through a pretty lenghty diagnosis though - clicking off certain services that run in the background until I found what was causing the taskbar to load incorrectly (don't remember what it was unfortunately, wish I would have saved the support report).
Creamware should consider changing this in the next version so that you can access SFP without the taskbar. I really don't like having only one place to open things up from - especially something that seems to have bugs in Windows XP (although, hopefully Microsoft has corrected the problem for good with their service pack).

I use XP srv.pack 1 and I have killed automatically start-up SFP using "Fresh Utilities" tool.
In that small application is possible to monitor all applications which atempt to start-up by itself.
On my desktop I have placed shortcut for SFP.
Also I have deactivated start-up in SFP settings.

Maybe I wasn't clear but I can't acces SFP not by clicking the shortcut on my desktop. Because when I do no icon appears on my tray or taskbar and there is no other way then this..

Try right clicking on your taskbar, then click on properties. On the Taskbar tab, click customize. Try resetting defaults

Strange. Did you format C: before you reinstalled 98SE? If not, you should do for clean up.

Hmmm If I installed win98 and the formatted c: what would be the point?? 98se is installed after formatting offcourse.. And I don't see where I can restore my default settings for my taskbar..

Honestly, I am not sure how the taskbar works with 98 anymore. My instructions were for Windows XP (thought it might be similar, but I guess not).
You may want to consider an updgrade to XP if all else fails. For me, it has been more stable than any other operating system I have worked with. Most likely, you would just need the Home addition - and updgrade prices are not that bad (the only things the Pro version adds are more complex networking capabilities - and the remote desktop ability).
