Two weeks ago I was nearly burned in my studio. I laid on my couch listen to music and smoked a cigarette. It was late in the night, I droped the cigarette into the ash-tray and sank into sleep with the ash-try on my belly. The ash-try fall on the couch and I didn´t noticed that.
After few minutes I woke up because my arse got hot, I opened my eyes and can´t see anything. The room was filled with smoke and the couch glowed. If I noticed that few minutes later I didn´t woke up in fact of a smoke poising and I would be dead,I guess -simply burned.
I could blank the fire and opened the window the whole week.
When such heavy things happen you fall into a strange mood, very clear and somehow it fells like being in a vacuum.
Virtualstudio and legros had some bad events few days ago, man you feel like I.
Someone gave me a second chance.
As always I try to express my thoughts with music.
Thx to Doru for the vocal sample.
EDIT: Just bump it in memories to Doru.

A lot of emotion in here - congures all sorts of pictures. The main picture I got was influenced by the female vocal I think - which was beautiful.
Because I had "fire" on the brain - it reminded me a lot of the recent devistation of the bushfires here in the A.C.T (Australian Capital Territory) - to say the music gave me chills is probably ironic - but it just gave me that sense of looking at the aftermath from above or from some other plain. Well crafted and eery - yet still beautiful.

sh*tttt, that was really close indeed Chris!
Great track bytheway! and it sounds perfect.
Can emagine you made this after what happened.
One note, just me:
If I'm right you have the NI Absynth.
Maybe it could be nice to put some rory soft- screaming sound in it occasionally.
Some pain, to be sure to keep distant from possible sentimentality.
The Absynth with it's combfilter can do great things like that, and yet it keeps sounding 'nobel'.
The contrast with the overall sound could give even more depth to the atmosphere.
To me

Slowly I get over my small studio accident. A good day to stop smoking finaly.
Aren´t the low frequences too much in the mix?
I must agree this is full of emotions, I hear it often the last days.
Thanks for the nice reviews.

Dream like state of mind, smoke billowing, angelic choirs watching over you.
Tensions, smouldering flesh (warning - smoking can damage your health).
Nice vocals, great instrumentation.
All extremely moody.
Excellent track
Don't give up smoking Chris - it gives you inspiration

BTW - I asked if you would keep an eye on our house while I was on holiday. If I had known about this incident..... Hmmmmmm !

Ah, Mr Holiday is it now ?

The joys of retirement. I've got to wait another 4 weeks for my next holiday so be fair - I only go away once per month!!
Yep, my house was okay.
Anyway, back to the music...... I like the instrumentation very much. tell me more about Crystal - is it VST? Is it memory greedy?
Quote - "Someone gave me a second chance".
I always pray for my friends
BTW - I knew that you were a heavy smoker but do you have to use your backside as well? Or do you only smoke through your backside when your hands are busy on the keyboards and mixers?

The english/your way of humour always makes me smiling,Neil. You have to try smoking with your BACKside too. It´s very funny and sets you somehow under, in my case over fire.
Crystal is a briliant synth, the authour Glenn made a awesome synth and it is all freeware. While I looked up to search the link for you I noticed that Crystal is out in a new version 2.3. Many new features along with a new sound engine and many new presets. Read about it and download it here:
http://www.greenoak.com/crystal/index.html
Don´t forget to thank Glenn for his Crystal.
Man, I can´t stop to laugh, thanks and good to have you back.

Crystal Synth is WONDERFUL - it's also very CPU hungry. No problem though, just bounce to audio when you have something you like - have been following it for a while - Computer Music magazine also had a nice tutorial on patch creation.
There is another Free synth you might want to have a look at to called "Ganymed" - it's also very useful, mainly use it for tempo-sync'd sequences.

just incorporated the Chrystal synth.
Nice one, thanks Chris!
DL-ed also the Phaserifier.
It's a good one, comes close to the great Roland SE70 phaser.
