:me claps:

Bravo, I look forward to read about peoples first impressions
Unfortunately my system is very unstable these days, and I will likely invest in a copy of hyperos2003. This will delay my experience with flexor, but I don't think I can resist it too long

Sounds great!

Could you please explain the importance of having ModularIII in terms like: you want be able to do this... or that... without ModularIII?

I do want ModularIII, but I am a poor student and find Flexor more interesting than ModularIII, if I have to choose between the two.

Cheers!
Thomas

No joke about the "Students with DSP fetishes". If Flexor ends up REQUIRING Mod3, I will end up holding out for an SRB card and hope that Creamware runs a package that includes Mod3. 3DSP is simply not enough to modulate what I want to modulate . I swear, I wish Creamware would release a series in their line similar to what they did with their LunaII/PowerSampler/Elektra series, except do it with their SRB(XTC 6DSP) cards - One for Modular3 bundled with Flexor, one with MiniMax and B2000, one with Mixer 1&2 and Effects 1&2 - and release them around 600USD. That way those of us that are inclined one way or another with our Creamware cards could expand the route we want.

Marketing? Marketing? Anyone?

How are you planning on selling Flexor - will it be done through CW or separate? (sorry if this has already been asked and answered).

I think these modules could finally drag me away from my Nord Modular!! PLease let us know when you're set to go.

Ok!

Here is some technical info - Off the record!

1) FleXor can use all of modular versions
modular 3's strength is the small aditional modules that let you ge even deeper into synthesys (diode, ivnverter, divider, x-y, and so on)if you want to enjoy realy into deapth advanced synthsys, i realy recomend buying mod 3. but it will serve you well under mod 2 aswell. those "small" modules may look boring, but they are not.

2) FleXor NEEDS 3.1c to work.

3) FleXor has some poliphony issues:
each module has a maximum number of poliphony it can reach (it is indicated on the modules) no matter how manny dsp's you have. if you have more dsp's it doesnt meen you can have more poly, but it meens you can put more flexor modules. this is becouse of flexors unique architecture, and enables extreme acuracy.

4)the granular effects will work with most computers, if they can handle more than 2 masterverbs. if your motherboard is problematic with pci bandwidth, you are likely to have the same problems with the Displacer and regroover.

5) FleXor will be sold throuhg CW shop. We are 100% behind creamware.

alot of these modules are unique to flexor. comparing to nord modular is useless. what i do, is combine my nord modular with cw modular and flexor to get 1 ultra-mega-hyper modular synth.

p.s. just now i noticed i posted a new post instead of continuing that long post.. john can you move this thread where it belongs?
sorry

incidentally, a friend of mine tried hyperOS, and he reported that it was *extremely* RAM-hungry... I don't know to what degree, but I thought I'd let you know just in case.

On the other hand, Flexor has improved stability hugely on my pc  Running no native VST stuff which once in a while crashes my machine, my DAW made it to 11 days uptime. 11 days appeared to be too long for my drives tho

Nah, it's ok. Enough people are excited about Flexor (me included!) that this announcement warrants a new topic.

Also, <lazy!> now that there are a bunch of replies in this thread, it'd be a pain to move them all to the other topic

Cheers,
