I'm trying to get perfect balance in a mix and I think I'm on the verge of getting there.
Any suggestions?
Paul
Edit: That swooshing noise is on purpose. You can imagine the changing of pictures in the video, right?

Very smooth muzak. It reminds me of the sort of thing you get when you stay in a good hotel and turn on the TV - the hotel "blurb" comes on in soothing tones talking about their wonderful facilities, in-room massage, and late-night restaurant.

Or maybe they play this in the cocktail lounge ?

Ha, this must be a family comedy serie, one of those I never look but the music fits to it. The mix is strong and good for me.
Sometimes it is hard to hear the things behind the guitar(vibe,percussion..) but thats not relevant I think, Because you also see pictures while the music plays.
Have you every tried to use something like a externalizer from Cubase to place some instruments to the front and others to the back? Just a thought.
I would buy it for my serie

Thanks for the reply Chris.
I use Logic so I have no idea what that Externaliser plug is.
There is going to be a voice-over on this track, if they do decide to buy it. So I am trying to mix it in that voice-over optic...
Damn! I can`t stand the waiting for the producer's call...

Sorry to hear they didn't like this - what was the TV show (pilot) ? Sounded like it would work well for a "30-something Witch" type situation - with those regular "magical" sweeps/audio wipes.
Worth hanging on to and building up a library - someone else might love it - it's definitely quality stuff.

The thing is that there are 3, count 'em,
3 women producers working on this show.
One told me she likes acoustic music and showed me a segment. It's a show about peopple who looked for long-lost relatives or friends(looking for them was in a previous series)and found them. This is the follow-up series and the mood of the show is full of love and happiness.
I think I got the jist of the mood in the tune posted here. The problem is that this new program will play at 8 p.m. and one of the producers thought this tune sounded too "Afternoon-y"...
I'm doing a "four-on-the-floor" right now( yeah, that should work...). My head is empty and I can't find a decent melody...
I can't wait til Monday when I'll be listening to Derek Sherinian LIVE!

Hm, love, peace and the recovery of old relatives around 8.p.m. We had a similar show in Germany in the past. I would try a track that sounds like Kitaros Silk road, full of harmonic and peace.
I´ve got tears in my eyes when I hear it. That combined with a actual beat for a new show.
Ah, this job is not easy.
And it is not easy to please three women anyway.
I hope you find a way!!
