Hi all
I've been using my Pulsar 2 for about a year now with Cubase. But untill today I hadn't tried the XTC mode (which I was told was not working properly). After reading a couple of posts here about XTC (and how to get it to work) I tried it out.
Everything went fine. But I encountered a problem and I'll need some help.
It seems that my analogue source doesn't make a sound in Cubase Sx. I do hear VST instruments, my external gear is receiving the correct midi signals (and transmitting audio).
Now when I start SFP, load the XTCproject.pro and hit a note on my external gear I do hear it.
Must be something wrong in Cubase Sx but I don't know where... I hope someone can help me out?

You have to route the "analog Source" to the "Asio dest" (You can make more ASIO channels by right clicking the icon), and then make a audio track inside SX, remember to activate the ASIO channels inside SX, I think it's under "VST inputs" under devices.
Fast and unstructured post, but I hope it helps.

Thx for the reply and help Thomas, but it didn't work.
But I've pinpointed the problem a bit further: I need to connect the Asio Sources and the Analog Source to the Analog Dest to hear audio.
Now between them three there's DirectPlayMixerContainer. I need to be able to hook both (Asio & Analog source) to the DirectPlayMixerContainer and the ouput of the DirectPlayMixerContainer to the Analog Dest.
I tried inserting a mixer between Asio & Analog source - DirectPlay... But I only hear my VST instruments then.

IMHO, editing the xtc.pro file causes problems in some cases...
Why don ´t u use the input-monitoring in cubase?
Just open the xtc-setting box via sx device-setup to activate adat-inz and ouz..

Well, I tried it and it didn't help. I know, it must be something I'm doing wrong... but I tried about everything I could think of.
Oh well, back to using Sx and Sfp together, because I doubt it's worth all the trouble. Thanks for the help anyway

hhmm..., there are no troubles using the xtc-mode with adat live inputs here...

Nope BlackSun, It really won't work. Here is a screenshot of my XTCproject.pro (what Sx uses, doesn't seem to use XTC.pro):
As you can see I followed the stepts from
GonZoft his post to the letter. And it works fine! Only problem is my analog source.
Now here I tried using the micromixer to hook both an Asio source and the Analogue Source to DirectPlayMixerContainer:
The result was: Vst and CW sound but no sound from my external gear (and it does receive midi and transmit audio). I followed your Advice BlackSun and in Sx I activated Source-Analog in the XTC control panel, I even tried ADAT A/B: still no sound coming true
Strange thing is that when I close Sx and start SFP (and open up the XTCproject.pro, the one with the micromixer): I do get sound from my external gear (leading to the conclusion that it must be Sx?)
Anyways, maybe this info will help a bit more?
Ps: I did pay attention in Sx to select the correct output if you were wondering.

I just connect analog source to asio dest (mixer not necessary) and not to directplaymixer which you may connect between an asio source and an asio dest, to get asio direct monitoring and/or record SFP synths as VSTi in real time.
good luck
