Does anyone have any suggestions? When I start up SX it takes up to 10 minutes to load! This is a new thing, it never used to happen. My memory and RAM seem in tact, a reinstall of SX and SFP don't help, Intel app accelorator makes no diff. I was wondering if something was corrupting the process, although I haven't installed any new progs. Also Nero can't recognize my CD burner anymore and even the XP burning is temperamental. I wonder if XP is corrupted or?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I run SX,SFP on XP Pro, P4 2G, Oktek MB, 384 RAM, 2Gig virtual RAM, and lots of room on my hard disks. Oh and Matrox 550.

Where in the loading process does it take long? You know how it lists what it's checking at the bottom of the splash screen? What does it say? Also, did you install any new plugins recently?

At the bottom of the splash screen it USUALLY zips through to delayLCR, thinks for about 10 secs, then shoots through to the end. Now it gets through to the delay, then it spends ages going through every effect and module (approx 1 min for each)and even goes through things I don't have key nos. for.
And no I haven't installed anything new lately. Does this help?
Do you think I should reinstall Cubase completely fresh? i.e. uninstall, reg clean, reinstall with updares from the web rather updates I've saved from previous installations, because sometimes SX just crashes as it's trying to open a project, even if I was working on it 5 minutes ago!!!
Thanx for replying.

Hi,
I have similar problem, since I have installed Steinberg Virtual Guitarist.

If anyone's interested, changing my host board priority seemed to fix it, only problem is that I have Pulsar 1 & 2 cards hooked up together and I lose 24 bit if P1 is host. I guess for now I'll just start up SX and make a cup of tea in the meantime

Sounds like you need to completely reinstall SFP and SX. I had this problem once and fixed it by cleaning out the registry and reinstalling. hope this helps.

Any VST/ or DX plugin added after the SX install? Those freeware plugs sometimes make a mess.

Yeah, could have been. I remember having loads of probs after adding Rupsta to the VST instruments.
