i just made a very few experiment in which i layered two (or three) snare sounds to get a more "real feeling" for a snare track.
i used a snare sample from my cd "bob clearmountain", a snare sample from my Dm5 and another one from my Korg 03RW (just to try something different...)
i recorded one track to cakewalk and duplicated it three times, to assign it to all the destination. then, i modified two of them adding (or subtracting) a random amount of velocity.
the result was good... the "sound" varies from hit to hit and it has a more "real" feeling.
i'd like to do an experiment like this with e-bass samples...
who is doing such experiments with STS??
i want to dig into layering of sounds...
(but at a first time just with "real instruments", pads and synths are another world...)
