Hi all,
let me warn you in advance: this might be a long read.
I'm a happy LAP + Logic Control user. I run LAP 5.3.0 on a P III 1400Mhz PC ( XP-Pro, 512Mb Ram, 2 x 40Gb hd, Matrox G400 2 x 17" flatscreen). I also have 2 creamware soundcards ( PowerSampler and Luna II ) with 2 breakout boxes. This gives me 20 analogue I/Os. Allthough the configuration (soundcard, OS, platform) doesn't matter in this case, any PC or Mac running a multi I/O card will fit in my story.
I'd like to run the outputs of my external synths through Logic. No problem you'd say, indeed no problem at all, I use the AUX channels to get the audio in Logic and can apply all the desired FX/plugins on them I want.
But in Logic all synths, either virtual Pulsar synths or external equipment, will then have TWO faders, one MIDI and one audio fader. Theses two faders also show up on my Logic Control. But my main question is: How can I have the same endresult, but without haveing two faders visible, can I merge two into one ? Because what I've seen so far is that if I play the sounds of my synths, I can't tweak the plugin parameters for it's audio channel at the same time, because then the audio channel wil be selected and the MIDI channel muted.
If there's no way, so be it, but it would be nice to have one fader for an instrument. I know MIDI and audio are two different signals so on the otherhand two faders is logical. But if there's a feature/option to merge two faders ( maybe with folders ?) I'd like to know.
I know this sounds all a bit complicated, but it's the only way I can explain it.
Thanks for your time,
Ronald
