Just when i thought the installation succeeded...

My current setup:
PIV 2.5 / 1024mb / 120gb
Emagic AMT8 serial midi interface
Some hardware (sampler etc)
Evolution UC16
Cubase SX
Virtual instruments like Pro52 and FM7

The BIG problem:
I start SFP, synths.pro (or multimedia.pro), open Cubase SX and start a new 16 channel sequenzer module.
In SFP my latency setting : 4ms @ 44.1
Loaded project : synths.pro / multim.pro
Vst instrument : doesnt matter, in this case Pro52.

When i begin recording everything seems ok. At recording take nr4 or 5 i can still play with my vsti and record it in Cubase SX but when i play it back it seems like cubase recorded eveything offbeat (even when i used the metronome, everything is off the beat) When i play live there is no latency what so ever. When i record it in Cubase neither.. but when i play it back in Cubase nothing seems to be right...every note i played with or without the metronome is recorded offbeat !!! HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN ?

..im very confused and im wondering if i made a good choice buying this expensive card..

I hope someone can help me with this !

Hello!

Don't worry, you have done a good choice buying this audio card  The problem you are experiencing is a Cubase SX problem. Cubase SX especially in pre-1.03 versions has severe midi-timing problems. I have actually experienced midi timing problems with 1.051 too. Downgrading to version 1.03 seems to be better in stability for my setup.
For more information I would advise you to have a look at the cubase support forums (http://www.steinberg.net/en/ps/support/forums/)

Thank you
