HomeSite 5, for HTML script

Well, as I’m getting into the Multimedia world and web page construction, I couldn’t help to pay attention to this much appreciated tool for many developers. So I would like to ask to those of you with knowledge the following questions:

1) Is it HomeSite of any use if you are using something like Adobe GoLive, or Dreamweaver MX, or FrontPage?
2) What would you use it for, if you were to use for instance, FrontPage as your main editor?

Thanks for your answers.

I wouldn't touch Frontpage and AFAIK Homesite is the poor man's version of Dreamweaver - it's really a hand-coders help tool I believe.

I'd do everything in Dreamweaver, then, if you needed to optimise pics, or make web graphics, use Fireworks.

Of course purists will say "code everything by hand".

Just my personal opinion.

Thanks Spirit for your answer.

I see, so any WYSIWYG like Dreamweaver, Golive, etc., are to do the same thing you would with HomeSite, just coding everything manually. I understand now.

Spirit, can you tell me what does it mean AFAIK, I’ve heard it before, but it’s not in the dictionary, (perhaps it means “and the like”?) Cheers.

AFAIK = as far as I know

Here's a list of abbreviations:

There is some good html advice here:

I know a reasonable amount about such things and would be pleased to help in any way
