What to expect of this type of controller
(number of tracks in rec/play/resolution).
S.o. told me that I could expect results very near of
Ultra wide LVD without having to spent Big $ in high end
hard drives (I hadn't a silver spoon in my mouth when I was born)... I'd like to have other advices

Subject: Raid

I used a Promise FastTrack 66 Raid. I didn't gain anything using it with Pulsar. I think there was too much PCI usage. Audio playback choked with the same number of tracks as a regular ATA setup. Several people have made the point about the 815 chipset that the ATA100 is not on the PCI buss, keeping it free for Pulsar.

I use SCSI with The SSIII chipset, which has 2 SEPARATE PCI busses. The Pulsar and SCSI are on different busses, so they don't fight for bandwidth. It's way pricey, though.

Subject: raid

^hi,
i´m now trying to use my raid-controller onboard. but i have still no real better success recognized... so on the other side i´m working on my u2w-scsi-drives... and there is still better performance left i think!
and: my pulsar is no longer left on this pc... it works on a second pc... so maybe it´s not that important ... but i wanted to request!

good luck
