Some sync problems. I have an Alesis keyboard with ADAT out. If I set the synths master ans SFP slave, everything works perfect. But vice versa, and I hear only awful noise! Should I need use BNC word clock cable for that?

I'd need that because I want at the same time use a guitar that is connected to SPDIF in my preamp doesn't allow to be used as slave  (Actually I haven't RTFM, but haven't found any option)

Is it possible at all to use SPDIF and ADAT at the same time?

How I should set the sync if I add an digital mixer to my setup...?

Does your Alesis keyboard have a BNC word clock input???, I think if you want to plugg your guitar preamp to SFP you'll have to set your pulsar card as slave from the SPDIF input, and then connect a coaxial cable from the pulsar BNC WordClock to your Alesis Keyboard (if it has a BNC Input WC) and set this one to be slave from the BNC Input.

Hope this helps a little.

Snoopy.

Yes it has.
I just wonder that SFP will sync to Alesis without BNC, but not vice versa (if spdif is not used)
Maybe I should try Word Clock. What kind of cable do I need? Is it the same that is used in coaxial ethernet?

Yes that kind of cable will work just fine.

Should I use terminators or can I directly connect those devices?
And can I connect more than two devices using this? For example, If I buy a digital mixer.

Yes you can connect more than 2 devices directly, actually you can connect any number of devices than can be chained using word clock, Pulsar has one WordClock INput and one WordClock OUTput, the only thing you must do is to define ONLY ONE DEVICE as MASTER, the rest should be SLAVE.

Hope this helps.

Pulsar has WC in/out? Really? What is SyncPlate then used for?
But thanks for your info!

Oh yes, to the original problem, it really started to work using SyncPlate (source) in SFP.

EDIT: not really. As I'm now typing here using my net-comp, nobody uses my music machine. BUT. I hear sudden clicks and pops from speakers! There really is no use on the machine now! What the hell...
