Howdy,
First post here, glad to find you. I'm on a trial period with a Powersampler card, but have not been able to start the evaluation yet, because I'm not able to open anything in the Main studiotools package. When I try, i get the register dialogue, telling me to enter the key for the package.

When asking Creamware, they say that I have all the keys I need to use the card. I have the keys for 1) Luna Software 2)Power Sampler 3)SCOPE Fusion Platform 4) STS-3000.

Now, I'm beginning to suss out that I probably need a separate key for Main studiotools. Is that right? Or is the package supposed to be happy with the key for SFP?

When installing I import my allkeys.skf file - but no key is entered for the Main studiotools package. All keys for the other stuff seems to be imported ok.

My setup: P4/1800/512 Asus P4T-E, XP Pro, Cubase SX. I have tried installation of SFP 3.1b&c.

Pleas enlighten me, I've been struggling with this for 8 days. All I'm able to up til now is is to route 2 ins to 2 outs. Midi seems to work ok too. But no mixers, no effects etc from the Main studiotools package.

Mikael

I had something similar happen with I installed STS3K on my luna. When I entered the information with the AllKeys.XXX file, it wouldn't take. When i entered it by hand, it took first time. When you enter it by hand, keep close watch for characters that are similar, such as "0" zero, and "O" oh, "1" one, and "L" ell, etc. as this might be part of the problem also.

I'm pretty sure Creamware uses only numerical zeros for "0" character, never alphabet "O".

Ok, thanks, I will try entering by hand. But back to the main (key:)) question - am I missing a key for the Main studiotools package?

In the installation dialouge, there is an entry for the package, but I don't have a key for it in my allkeys.skf (see first post). Shall I enter some of the other keys, for instance the SFP key?

The main studiotools package is supposed to be included in all basic 3.1 setups (which I seem to have a key for), I find this a little confusing. Can I find documentation about the different keys somewhere?

Mikael

Now I've tried. During my install #47 (approximately) I entered the keys by hand. No difference. But I still don't really know which key goes where? Why do I have a Luna key, what to do whith it? And why haven't I got a key for Main studiotools - which I belive I need. Any ideas, someone? All of you guys running SFP 3.1 must know this.

Have a look into the presets folder of SFP.
In the subfolders effects, midi, mixers there's a folder called Basic.
I assume all items in that Basic folder belong to 'Main Studiotools', which indeed are included with any version of SFP.
If you cannot use those devices, than CW should fix the issue.
All other mixers and effects belong to Package 1 or 2 and have ridiculous prices.
Most users of P1,P2 and Scope automatically got the key for the appropriate (additional) packages if the devices were included with their board or they bought the ProPack.
It's really difficult to distinguish and imho CW would have been better off putting all together in one package for any SFP user.

To use the Main Studiotools Package, you need a key for it. It's not included with the free SFP 3.1 update for Luna/PowerSampler/Electra.
Instead you need to use the devices in your 2.5 installation.
There's a paid update available for 2.5 users: http://shop.creamware.de/shop2000/de/Sh ... &CY=CWSoft

"SCOPE Fusion Platform Software 3.1
For Luna, PowerSampler and Elektra
Art.No. MOP-42E1"

on this page it says 'all inclusive' for the main studio tools, but of course excludes the additional effect and synth packages.

confusing anyway, cheers, tom

Thanks a lot, this pretty much explains everything but how my music store (Estrad musik, Stockholm) can claim that I have everything I need for running the card under XP. Bugger them, this has costed me almost two weeks of tweaking. Again, thanks to all for your time.
