hey hey
Iam having problems starting up logic 5
let me explain
1.old OS was 98, had logic 5 which all worked excellently (dig the atomation changes!)
2.Then decided to buy pulsar 2 card
3.in preparation of that happy day i decided to install win 2000 OS and formated my hdrives, to create a dedicated system.
4.before i got the pulsar2 i decided to install all my progsm such as logic and reason sound forge 6 etc .
5.when finished installing all the programms, everything apart from logic worked great.
6.logic seems to have installe dcorrectly, but when u go and double click on the logic icon on my desktop , nothing happens, irepeat nothing happens , it is as if the programm does not load or register the .exe file.
7.Then i installed my pulsar 2(oh happy day)
8.After reading the logic doc help file on win2000 i installed the service pack2 and once agin nothing happened.

i Am sure u all can appriciate the importance of this problem, i am a budding user of logic, and pulsar, and to use the card to its full potential i humbly think that logic is the key, i have tried to install cubase vst, cakewalkpro, pro tools, and they all work fine.
I will admit that i do have a basic knowledge of pro tools and cake walk and vst, with the exception of pro tools(havent got used to it)Logic is the best in my humble apinion, SO PLEASE help me
I am a professional Classical Musiican living london, I teach Music theory to Diploma level and no some excellent session musicians, who are the bizness, i also wright jingles for tv. soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo pleaqse get in touch i would make it worth your while.

thanks
ADAM

well, I won't start moralising about your use of a crack, although if you are making any music at all from your music, however little, it is rather unethical not to buy it.

Anyway as to your problem, you have not given any information about what kind of system you have (motherboard, cpu, RAM, other cards installed etc), even though you have made several posts on the forum.

The only advice I can offer is that I've seen this kind of behaviour (.exe run but not doing anything) only when some kind of virus has attached itself to the .exe.

I would suggest running a virus scan (get a 30-day demo if you have to), then reinstall everything including XP/2000 following the various setup guides *exactly* - see the tips n tricks forum - there is a long thread relating to installing win2000 or XP properly for audio uses.

I've installed Logic for many people and I must say I've never encountered the problem you describe.

peace
