Martin
_____________________________________

I discovered this plug-in called VReOrder.
It puts out very strange echoes without playing the source. So, all you hear is the output of the effect.

I applied this effect to small sequences, not more than 4 bars long. I used Violins, Double-basses, a solo flute and a solo oboe.

The result is quite interesting. It comes out as minimalist music at its best(I think).

Let me kne what you think

Hate to say this, but the first sentence that strikes my mind is "Chaos in G"

Sincerly,

Not nearly as chaotic as this tune for your italian sculptor... I like the texture of this one, nothing agresive in it! Reminds me of an orchestra that's tuning before a performance, a part that I like in a symphonic concert!

That's exactly the kind of reaction I had when I first listened to the finished product. The only thing is the orchestra takes a awful long time to tune up, eh?

Indeed! It takes kinda all the tune!

i liked this one too! at least the first part. maybe a bit too long, yes, but i know the feeling: you feel really enthousiastic about some nice new 'trick' and it's fun getting carried away. just downloaded the plug. i think this must be fun! thanks for pointing us to this device! get it at http://vellocet.com/software.html
and yes, the 'tuning orchestra' was exactly my first impression as well.
would be really nice to implement it in something like biochip (still one of my fav's) after the initial 'hurray' feel of the experimentation has gone. (hope this didn't offend...).

From the Vellocet site:
Plugins written using Steinberg's VST Software Development Kit. All Steinberg copyrights acknowledged.

Hmmm... maybe that's why it reacts strangely with Logic.(at0mic tells me it crashes Fruity)

no offense taken, Borg. If you listen closely though, you will hear subtle shifting in the chord density. That's what minimalism is about, for me anyway.
