For some reason if I start playing some fast chords I have the following problems:

. clicks and pops (usually when CPU gauge is at 70% which happens fast)

. a lot of times, the notes get stuck

Isnt it supposed to handle hundreds of voices?

1Ghz P3
Intel motherboard (D815EEA2)
512MB PC133
Windows XP Pro - Optimized to death

Midiman US Midisport 8x8
Roland RD-150 master keyboard

Pulsar II (6 DSP)
A16 Ultra
Cubase SX

ULLI / Settings: 44,1Khz - 16Bit - 13ms

I tried both in XTC mode (which I normally use) and classic SFP - same results.

If I look at the number of voices on the Kontakt window, it's only at 10 or 12 when it starts crackling.

It sucks, I don't think I am pushing it that hard. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,

I think it is related to a cpu overload. Glitches are caused by a very short cpu overload. It happens so fast that the cubase cpu meter doesn't show it.

I think kontakt is a good sampler, but using effects and modulation causes more use of cpu

I agree.

Using Kontakt on a dual 1.8ghz Xeon box here I have to be VERY conservative with the way I construct groups and use insert & send effects. In fact if there's not a good reason to use the effect within Kontakt it's probably smarter to rely on your preferred external plugin for the given situation.

Also I might mention that since you're using Cubase we're probably assuming you're using the ASIO Scope drivers.
