Hello people.

Well i am a proud owner of a KORG Electribe EM-1 !!
Now this is the issue...

It's full.....
Full of my crazy beats.

You will not believe what i have to tell you now....
I have never ever made a "data dump"

This makes me nervous....because now i have to do it.
The "black box" is full....i have to dump it and save it so i can start filling the little "box" all again.

Now...i know what to do....(i actually had to read the manual.....)
But....i really don't get it. ( i never get things right when im nervous)

I take it for granted that using Cubase when doing this will not f*ck my shit up.

I don't want to do anything wrong.
These patterns are whery important to me.

If anyone ownes a EM-1 or "Electribe" stuff then please tell me what to do.

I allways seem to f*ck up when i really shouldn't.

With your helping words.....i wont be that nervous...and everything will be allright....wont it ???

My blessings Jngaelin

hi,

the dump itself isn't dangerous, but you should examine the raw data saved to be shure everything's in the file.
You might use several applications and dump several times.
I can't remember the EM display right now, but if it has a visual representation of the patterns and if those are REALLY important:
take a series of snapshots with a digicam at low resolution

good luck, Tom

Several people had problems with sysex dumps over the Pulsar midi interface so if you have another, try that one as well.

I was well ahead of that one

I made the "dump" on a SoundBlaster live !!!
I thaught a "standard" interface wouldn't make any fuzz.

Long live Creative and it's "dumping" possibillyties

(Did i spell that one wrong ?)

Thanx for the tip though.

I believe that MidiOX can do it also, it's a freeware librarian that can also do MIDI data and other things like virtual ports etc. I believe it dumps everything down to a generic Sysex file that can be loaded by anything, including itself. I haven't used it in a while though, so RTFM first .

I have and EM1 too

Would you mind telling me how you got the job done and dropping me an email or private message with the procedure?

I actually don't use is sequncer much any more. I sequence using Cubase then just tweak the Synth parts real time ( Love those big ass farty basses w/filter sweeps  )

BTW if you like the EM-1, Go check out the Yamaha RS7000.

I have one and now that I've mentioned it, I'm going to have to clean my pants. If you like groove boxes then DAMN! This is the beasty...
