When using the Mod2, I also found the ability to swap into other wavetables (such as the fab JD800 one and others), and I was just wondering, how do you create a wave table? It would be interesting (to me at least) to create one based on generated sounds from other machines (such as my ESQ-M, and possibly user created wavforms (ala Dope, etc) to use as a modification table. Still using DSP on a budget, and my Luna is beginning to smack the wall more often than I want sometimes. I need a Pulsar 1/2 in addtion me thinks..

The wavetable oscillator in ModIII is good and has dozens to choose from - but you can't add to it. You could use the sample oscillator and just drop a wav in... But for top quality then I think the Vectron is the synth for you. I've not used it, but it certainly allows you to import your own. According to the CW bulletin it's going to be on special soon. Might even think about it myself . . .

Have a look:

ps: you're sure to need more DSP though

AFAIK, the sample pools can be used to achieve that. IMO the sample pool is loaded in the computer's RAM, but how about the selected sample? If it goes on DSP memory, you could do neat tricks with it, but it would need to be short (ie. a couple of wave cycles). If the selected sample goes to RAM, you could create sample larger samplebanks...

Or is the sample pool like a Waldorf table without rotary wave selector knob? Hm... I need to study some modular.
