Hi,

I'm working with a Luna II and a Pulsar SRB under Win2000 (XTC-mode) and WinXP (Normal mode), all works fine. I installed 24Bit ASIO 2 dest. and sources, but if I want to start a wave file f.e. from an audio disk, the mediaplayer says "Can't access the hardware, no driver installed".

Is it possible, that playing 16 Bit-wavefiles is only possible with 16 Bit dest. and sources?

Is it possible to install a second soundcard (Soundblaster) to get access to 16 Bit waves?

Thanks

Christian

I think it's impossible to use 16 and 24 in the same project - so load 16 bit ASIO source & destination to access those wavs

You can convert samplerate if you really need to ...

I don't remember anyone ever recommending a soundblaster coupled with
pulsar here at Z, but others will have more to say on that.

regards

Hi,
in early days I had installed a SB-compatible (the Daytona from Turtle Beach) additional to my Pulsar1 without any problems. You have to give attention on the IRQs.
Audio-CDs can be played only with your SB card because the Pulsar has no way to connect with your CDROM.
But if you convert the audio files to .wav-files, it sounds much better if you hear them with pulsar. Create a 16bit-project, load it and listen.

Hi,

thanks, I got a solution with WinXP and a 24bit project: I installed the wave 24bit source and connected it via Micromixer to the outputs - I can hear my 16bit wave files extracted from CD. Under Win2000 it doesnt work with the same 24bit project, don`t know why.
With XTC it doesn`t work with Win2000, but with WinXP, but only if I started Cubase (I changed the XTCproject.pro in the same way like my 24bit project).

Bye

Christian
