Somehow when I play a .wav file in the STS-4000 or Volkszämpler with the sample playback set as "To End" (like a drum sound) I experience a click at the end of the sample. The strange thing is that I use Sound Forge to fade out the end of the .wav file to prevent such clicks and in various applications (such as Reason) you can't hear clicks at all. I wonder if I'm the only one who experience this. What I also don't understand is that the Sample Editor of the STS doesn't have a Fade In/Out function, or am I mistaken?

hia lotuz,
i'm experiencing similar problems in sts5000, and as yet have found no solution.
what happens if you triger the sample in one of the drum synths instead of the sts4000 - does the click persist?
in my case, i get clicks only when using the sts.
in regard to the fade in/out, why not just use envelope1 which is amplitude envelope to controle fade in/out.
best of luck with the other problem.

Do you mean Volker Dietz' SDS? I'll have to try. But I was hoping that I could also recommend the Volkszämpler (or PowerSampler) to a friend who wants to make sample based music with Cubase VST. Apparently CW have some trouble to get their samplers work properly.

You're right, but if you could fade in/out in the Sample Editor, then you could do some more complicated stuff if needed. I'll try if it's possible to get rid of the clicks with the amplitude envelope.

are your attack/release values 0?
this could be the problem. . .

i suggest this only as a diagnostic exercise. of course, you want to get the sampler working properly.

I understand. And I do indeed want it to work properly. I like the STS-4000 because it's so similar to my Akai S2000, so I felt at home right from the start. Only thing I dislike is the sample browser, because dragging and dropping many samples one by one is annoying. But to be able to use the STS I need it to play the samples correctly. I'll give your and Algorhythm's suggestions a try tonight.

I think there's a good chance this is the problem. It'll click if you have your envelopes set to sharp. I use STS for my (non-altered) drum sounds, and I've never had any weird clicks unless I hadn't setup the Amp Envelope yet.
