Great urban feel.

Used Triton for bass, vibraphones, guitar, hits, jazz drums.
Nord Electro for waw EP.
Plasma for heavy kicks, STS3000 for sidesticks.

Goes to prove Pulsar drums are quite fat. Love 'em!
The semi-broken sound quality is on purpose.. ya know them hiphop sounds..

yo - pass dat blunt o'er 'ere.

cool vibe. keys are nice, as usual. I thought the 'stabs' were a nice touch, and loved the gating on the drums toward the end - this needs a 'fadeout' ending, in my opinion.

ha - weren't you just knocking triton for hip hop, and now you are releasing a track with it? - heh, just kiddin' bro!

Yeah, hehe.. I'm a mixed up guy algo.
Solo on top of this would definitely be cool.
thanx for listenin' guys.

Here are some gimmicks I used in this tune, for those who may be interested. (the Triton thread) I use these quite alot in other tunes too.

The brass "hits" that come in.. those were actually hand made. The way to do it is simple. Have a set of sounds (piano chord, and physmod trumpet blurt) do something for a duration, and then play the sax after the initial attack of everything else. So I'm just creating an ambience to put the sax in, to make it more "snitched off a record" feel. Then, reverb it a little, cut JUST the sax out, comp it so you get a desired envelope, and wala you've got your custom "hit" sound.

The sidesticks were driven through celmo's ampsim, and then comped quite hard. It cuts through everything. Love it.

Of course, the basic jazzy loop was reverb->pre-multicomped very heavily. Then chopped up for the "gating" part. The key was to have the bass reverberate quite strongly. (old studios..) The highs were also cut quite strongly, during multicomp.(not EQ)

So, that's about it I think.

He Ken, you're slowly changing, at least I have that feeling...
Great 'real quick', you're hiding your virtuosity a bit these days, in favour to the music, to the song, and thus to the listener, if you get what I mean
Last song I was looking for exactly such a dark Rhodes jazzchord, with 9th and 7th's and evrything in it...take care I'm gonne sample you one day

I'm sort of in a "sleep" mode right now. Trying not to get too involved with most of the tunes I write. Cuz I'll have to save up for next year's big performance! It's sort of like an R&D season for me. hehe.

but maybe I don't understand what you mean by "virtuosity".

virtuosity, thought it was english but I'm not sure
I meant the skills to play what and how you want, the skills of your hands, the playing technics, which I don't have alas

sure! That'll be cool. A smooth guitar seems to be just about all that's missing.
