here is the opening track for an EP that I'll be putting out real 'soon' on no logo records . . .

it is a soundscape piece. I don't know that I like it / dislike it, or if those categories even apply.
I know that I am basically done, and that I can't work on it for more than about 15 minutes without becoming completely sedated-feeling. It definitely sets the stage for what is to come. I can't listen to it without my attitude feeling completely altered by it. music is a powerful thing, eh? or is it just me . . .

oh yeah - made with neutron transplanet sampled beyond recognition, Korg EA-1, and Ableton Live. no MIDI - straight audio.

Excellent soundtrack material this – dark, foreboding and a thick mix. There’s a lot of instrumentation and effects going on and they “fit together” really well.
I don’t know who or what is chasing who in this but I’m glad I’m only watching.
Like it – well done.

It's not too often that I get definite pictures in my head listening to modern music (I do with classical  ).

But this track is different. To me it was like hovering over a heaving, alien ocean, watching unknown liquids splash, and hearing sounds from the depths. A helicopter flys past (1:20), but we linger a little longer. Eventually we zoom upward and look back at the ocean-planet, then continue a god-like trip through space (fade-out).

* I am quite sober as I write this *

So yeah, I liked it.

ps: I like the record lable name - reminds me a bit of a single I put out once on my own lable "Black Round Records"

thanks for the comments neil & spirit. so i guess that i'm not crazy for not being able to work on this piece long because it seems to have affected you the same way.

spirit - i'll take it as a compliment that few pieces of music illicit imagery for you from modern music, but that mine did  and I like your logo name too. I assume that was a vinyl release?

Hello Algorythm
You know that i'm not a good technician, but what i can say is that your intro has a real "tension",you are inside untill the end.And i love the kind of "bubble-ized sounds"? (56'' ,1'14'',1.31'')wich are comin from back and just passing through.
At home we were like in a kind of big spaceship arriving on Mars :)
just an "opinion" ouoouups.....

I feel the same way about this as you do Joel.
I don't think I'd be able to work on this for more than 15 minutes at a time either. After one hearing my mind went kinda blurry...hehe

I really like this stuff though. Is there any chance of hearing what comes after?
