I just updated to SFP 3.1c and suddenly find that the STM 2448 can't load properly.

I am getting an error message:
Can't find DSP file
Mixer Package I - Please check installation

I have the propack, a pulsar I and powersampler, and downloaded a "fresh" allkeys.skf from Creamware prior to install.

I have reinstalled and uninstalled/reinstalled several times with no luck. I also re-downloaded the 3.1c update in case that was the problem which didn't help. Any ideas/suggestions?

Manually copy /dsp folder from the folder you installed to the folder where it's installed.

I have the same problem but with different files.

If I reinstall SFP, I get the same error but with another missing file...

Can you tell me more about your system configuration? may be we can find something common...

the thing is related to "dsp" files, they are contained in a specifical folder and they provide information for every device and module dsp displacement. so usually finding it in a working installation and copying it in the new installation dsp folder, cures the thing. of course you should know wich is the one to copy.
a good thing is that you can copy all the dsp folder from the setup files (as it is available and not compressed) to the same folder in wich the file is missing, and it will be integrated.

Thanks everyone for the input! I have copied the DSP folder from SFP 3.1a into the DSP folder in the upgrade with no success yet. I also tried manually copying the files from the 3.1c install as well.

Does anyone know the DSP files associated with the Mixer I package? Also, I have copied the DSP folder located under C:SFPAppDsp

Is there another DSP folder I have missed?

Another folder worth updating from installation files: C:SFPAppScript

You did the right thing: First copy 3.1a contents, then overwrite w updated versions from 3.1c.

The problem means that files got skipped during installation. You could copy them manually or try to reinstall. It may take a while before you discovered which files though...

I have completely uninstalled and then re-installed several times. In addition, I installed once from the SFP 3.1 CD and then another time from the downloaded files to see if one would work. (thanks again AtOmic for the mirror!)

For reference, my system:
ASUS A7M266 with AMD 1 gig chip
512 megs DDR ram
Enermax EG465AX-VE(W) powersupply
NVIDIA Geforce 3
ethernet card
4 dsp Pulsar I
Powersampler II connected by S/TDM
firewire card
60 gig NTFS primary OS HD
20 gig NTFS recording HD (primary)
Plextor CD/RW slave
Mitsumi CDrom slave

running XP pro with SP1
the only other major program loaded is Cubase SX.

Hopefully I will track down the missing file(s) soon. Thanks for the help with troubleshooting!

i shouldn't say this but,

you know,if it just won't work right,you'll probably save a lot of time just backing everything up and wiping the hd and starting off fresh.

I had reinstalled it SEVERAL times, but nothing...
every reinstallation, I get the same error message, but asking for another file that is missing.

So, at0mic, If I had well understood I can direct copy the files from the downloaded versoin of SFP?

At this time I´m only getting this message with VDAT, wich I don´t use, but I´d like to solve it anyway...

If VDAT gives you problems but you don't have VDAT registered - then delete the concerning .dll in /VSTplugins/...

pff, would be nice if the installer worked a little better instead of us copying/deleting files... but IMO it's about the easiest way. A format and restart from scratch would probably give the similar problems.

I actually just wiped my HD and re-installed Win XP, SFP, and Cubase prior to developing this problem. I could just stay with 3.1a which works fine, but the bug involving MIDI controller presets really cramps my style!

On the other hand, having to use the 16/32 mixer after getting used to the 24/48 might be even worse...

I had the same problem. What i did was extracted the files from the zipped install
files. then i tryed loading the stm 2448 again and the problem was still there...

I then whent back to the directory and that winrar extracted the files with the subdirectorie structure, so i simple copyed the files from C:SFPAppDspappdsp to C:SFPAppDsp and the same with the script dir

Now all is fine.

that sounds like a winner.......3.1c has worked fine 4 me on 2 computers.....it SHOULD work unless it's a corrupt d/l....

It does seem like possibly a bad d/l. I have downloaded 3 copies, from CW, atomic's mirror, and the other mirror listed on CW's site with no luck on any. I even tried multiple extraction progs in case that was the source of the problem.

I think there must be a .dsp file related to the 24/48 mixer that is not in the sfp/app/dsp folder. I have copied that folder directly from my working 3.1a and into the broken 3.1c with no effect. I have also copied the script folder in the same way both from 3.1a, 3.1c and both together.

I am hoping that Creamware tech support can tell me what files are associated with mixer pack 1 so I can manually check that they are all there after the 3.1c upgrade.

The good side of all this is that I have found a new love for my Korg Z1! It's not as powerful or as easy to program as the scope platform and I don't think it sounds as good, but it always works solid when you power it up!

In looking back over the past years, I've spent alot of time not recording secondary to various system probs usually due to my own low knowledge base regarding computers which is glacially improving out of necessity.

I'm thinking about getting an "old fashioned" used ADAT to use for capturing sonics when jamming with friends or when I stumble across an awesome sound/tweak on my outboard gear. It seems like this would be easy to then later import into Cubase through the pulsar, all in a digital manner. (I use a small 24bit digital mixer with ADAT connections as my record interface into Pulsar anyway...) Does anyone else work this way? Any big plusses or minuses? I guess it wouldn't really work as well for adding tracks to an existing song structure, but should make recording on the fly a bit simpler!

Once again, thanks for all the ideas! I would have never made it this far using the SFP without PlanetZ and it's crew of helpful individuals.

Sorry, I told you VDAT but I wanted to say VRC!!! that was a mistake!!!

Now I had discovered another files that are missing too. I think those was effects or some tools that I hadn´t used before.

Please EVERYBODY who has this same problem CONTACT creamware support because I had mailed them but they told me that no one else had this problem!!!

If we don´t tell them they could not solve it!
